Wow!

I need to fill out an application with the AP. Sounds to me like they just hire anybody. Or, maybe his dad owns part of the AP.

I think you could make a case based on the win over a high ranked opponent, and the remaining schedule etc.(not that I agree with it) and path to be undefeated.

What doesn't make sense is if you loook at his pre-season ballot.

1. Florida
2. Utah
3. Texas
4. USC
5. ou
6. Alabama
7. Penn State
8. TCU
9. Texas Tech
10. tOSU
11. Georgia
12. Boise State.

I wondered if he had Boise close and Texas low to start. Does not appear to be the case. Hard to make a lot of sense out of it.

Oklahoma State over Georgia > USC over San Jose State

If "Okie Lite" isn't the 4th best team in the country, after beating UGA, USC can't possibly be a Top 5 team, after practicing with San Jose State.

What say you?

Yeah, it doesn't make sense why he dropped Texas. They didn't play a ranked team, but the ranked teams that Boise State and Okie State beat were not in front of Texas to begin with. Oh well.

On the other hand . . . ..

1.. Bradford was chased the whole time he was in and the OU line couldn't do anything about it. As a result, he was knocked out of the game.

2. OU's ONLY TD came after a muffed punt return and turnover. OU was fortunate to be ahead while Bradford was in the game.

3. BYU rammed the ball down the throat of the OU defense for almost 10 minutes with the game on the line. BYU had about 400 yards of offense against the OU defense.

Yeah, the loss of Bradford was huge but BYU smoked the other 21 OU guys on the field.

All of that ramming and chasing, and BYU managed .8 yds per rush and 1 sack. OU managed 3.8 yds per rush - with a make-shift OL, and tallied 4 sacks on Hall. What killed OU? Their defense being on the field a ton in the 2nd half. OU had, essentially, no offense in the 2nd half of the game and still had a chance to pull of a win w/ a last second FG. One thing is for sure... OU will certainly field a good defense. The Secondary was suspect, mainly in pass coverage at Safety - though CB-Franks gave up a few long plays.

BYU is a good team, but it was obvious OU did a lot to give this game away on a silver platter. IMO, if OU's opponent had been Texas or Florida, they would've lost by 3 or 4 tds, at least. It could've gotten real ugly.. e.g. 55-19 ugly!

The powers that be! Someone with a brain the size of an ant has to consider these people's poll'ing traits or characters to be vastly odd... if not completely disturbing. Seriously. The AP poll is quickly losing any validity, in terms of absolution for ranking achievement.

Georgia does not deserve to be ranked in any top 25 so the one that SVHorns posted at least had that one right.

Oh yeah, USC is by far the most overrated program in the history of college football. Ever.

Boise is a solid football team, especially on defense. With that being said, there nowhere near as good as Texas. This coming from a Fresno St. grad whose WAC-biased.

BYU would've won even without Bradford's inj. The Mormons played OU to a draw before Sammy went down.

I hate USC as much as the next guy, but... the only team that has beaten USC in a bowl game in the past 6 years is Texas. Granted, they routinely get to play against whichever crap team managed to "win" the Big Televen but still, one loss in six tries. The only thing stopping USC from being undefeated for the past six seasons is that since the departure of Reggie and Leinart they always seem to find a way to lose to an unranked team (or two) each year. It is very confusing but a common trend now.

The Mormons were losing 10-7, before Sammy went down. You have to be borderline mental to believe OU would've been held in check in the 2nd half, had Sammy been at QB, instead of Jones. It wouldn't have been pretty, but I'd bet my favorite dog OU would've pulled out a 10-14 pt victory.

Who cares if they play Big 10 teams. You are one of the Texas fans that loves to brag to OU how you have won more BCS games than they have and you do realize that 2 of your 3 BCS wins has come against the likes of the Big 10 don't ya?
I also seem to recall some pretty good teams losing to unranked teams over the past few years I mean at they lost to em last year, Ole Miss was unranked UGA lost to unranked South Carolina 2 years ago, I do not recall K-State and or A&M being ranked at the time UT lost to them, God knows Appalachain State was not ranked and I am sure I could go on.
But despite having more consecutive 11 win seasons than anybody else in the history of College football, USC definitely does SUCK and is the most overrated program to ever play the game. They should never ever be ranked.

http://pollspeak.com/pollstalker/pollstalker.php?r=V&s=9&p=18&w=3&t1=75&t2=0&v=1

Now:

1) Cincy is the 9th best team in the Nation - better than Georgia Tech, Penn State, Miami, TCU, Ohio State, Houston, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and LSU.

2) BYU is the 4th best team in the Nation, despite only beating the "23rd" best team (OU) by 1 pt w/o their QB and All-American TE. Still better than Cal, Texas, Ohio State, etc!

3) Maybe I'm the only guy wondering how Virginia Tech leaves the Top 25, after losing to the "3rd" best team (Ala)? Yet, Okie Lite loses to unranked Houston, and they only drop to 23rd.

4) How is BYU and Boise State ranked ahead of TCU... the same team who beat them both, last year, and returned the likes of QB-Dalton, OL-Newhouse (Lombardi Candidate), RB-Turner (Doak Walker Candidate), LB-Washington (Lombardi Candidate), and DE-Hughes (Lombardi/Butkus Candidate)??!! They're undefeated, just like BYU and Boise!
