A film crew will once again visit Permian turf as ESPN rolls into Odessa on August 16. Coca-Cola and American Express are the marquee sponsors. While the majority each day's SportsCenter telecasts will continue to originate from ESPN's Bristol studios, the 50/50 tour will feature a remote anchor desk parked in front of a live audience. A marathon dash across the country's more memorable sports venues, SportsCenter Across America will visit 50 states in 50 days, beginning with Fenway Park in Boston, Mass., July 17 as the Red Sox take on the New York Yankees. Fairbanks, Alaska will host the July 21 show during the World Eskimo - Indian Olympics.
The tour will pick up a national dart championship from Las Vegas, Nevada on August 3. Say Aloha to the Hawaiian Canoe Racing Regatta from Maui on August 6. The Panthers will represent the state of Texas on August 17 during a Permian practice. The television crew will leave the Permian Basin and head for Snowshoe Mountain, West Virginia on August 18. The Saint Paul, Minnesota Inline Marathon has been selected as the broadcast site for the August 21 airing. The tour passes through Chicago, Illinois on August 22 for a Cubs game against the Atlanta Braves.
The show's Oklahoma stop will be on September 2 in McAlester. The network will broadcast a prison rodeo, taking place at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. SportsCenter Across America heads home after a Battle Axe Throw from Allis, Wisconsin on September 4.
Other rumored events are to include: a jousting tournament (Maryland), a duck-calling (Louisiana), Memphis' Elvis 5K Run (Tennessee), Snake River Rodeo (Idaho), Foosball (Virginia), Windsurfing (Oregon), Lost Prairie Skydiving (Montana), Freestyle Frisbee (Washington), and a Blueberry Pie-Eating Contest (Maine).

Maybe they can get Jason White to be the guest QB.
That's if they can drag him away from his Arena League
obligations.

I don't know how anyone can even begin to compare Austin and Norman as cities. Austin wins hands down. Your football team may be better recently but that by no means makes the city of Norman or the State of Oklahoma better than Austin or the State of Texas.

OU has also taught us about choking in BIG games as of late. Maybe UT should wear K-State jerseys or USC jerseys next time they play OU. :D :D

Check the all-time record genius. Chokelahoma has carried a loss back
to Norman more times than Texas has to Austin.

Lets count national titles ok Clyde. For Texass you only need the middle finger to count the loney title from 40 years or so ago. Win something once in awhile and get back to those of us that follow teams that get to win national titles or are even good enough to play for em.
Choking in Oct is a terrible feeling vs a loss for the title in Jan butt then you haven't been there have ya??hehhehe
Mack fer coach of the year. He do good once he gets by he annual butt kicking in Dallas.

In all honesty.. you almost have to call OU the University of Texas-Oklahoma Branch because they wouldnt even have a football team if it wasnt for all the Texas kids that really make the programs be what it is.

AMAZING....U can always tell a Texan ya just can't tell em much since they just ain't too bright.
The topic was OU and Texas football and it wonders off to the prisoners in Texas, Lufkin only winning ONE state title in 98 years, Texas winning something or other this weekend, and the fact that OU kicks Texass tail each year 'cause OU can recruit players from Texas so well. Are we now demeaning the Texas kids who go to OU? They can't help it if they are brighter, smarter and like Pederson want to play on a national contender and not be embarassed each October in Dallas, Texass.
Hook em horns and please try to make a game of it this October....Boomer Sooner boyz
BTW to the guy with the double digit IQ, when did Earl Campbell and a national campionship for Texass begin to be mentioned in the same breath. check and see the last time yer boyz won a national title. Me don't think the Tyler Rose had even finished his 3rd year in the 5th grade yet.
Enjoy the CWS thats as close as you'll ever get to the big one.In football it's a little tougher

Your village just called, and they need their idiot back. Please don't post anything of the sort again. Infact, I don't know if you know how to not make yourself look like an idiot so just don't post. I didn't bother to read past the first line in your post because I was afraid it would make me dumber.

I never said Earl won a national championship with UT.
And Earl was a freshman at UT in '74....so how in the world
was he in 3rd grade when UT won the national title in 1970? Which by the way was 35 years ago...not 40+.
An okie implying that someone is stupid?...Oh my Lord that is classic.
Go back to your aunt mama's trailer and regroup Billy Bob.
Coming on a TEXAS football site and talking smack about Texans?
Yeah that was real bright.

Wide and wider.
35, 40 years what is the difference you weren't even born yet the last time they won.
We 35 year old Okies have lots of titles to remember and talk about since way back in 1970.
In fact let me extend my sincere apology to all Tea sippers. Heavens I don't know where my manners are. Poking fun at those amoung us who have never been alive when our college team has ever won something.. So Sorry as your team is.......

Obviously nothing was ever said about Texas being better than OU or vice versa.
You also said that Norman is a better city than Austin and after living in both places, I can honestly say that Austin is atleast 1,000 times better than Norman.
You also said that OU beats Texas each year which is not true since Texas has actually beaten OU more than OU has beaten Texas. OU has beat Texas recently and has had better teams recently.
Don't insult people's intelligence and make remarks about people going off topic when you yourself are not on topic either

Draggin Fan.
How can one insult a person about something they don't have. Intelligence.
Take it real slow Clyde, and reread the posts. I know it is hard at 5 words a minute butt take your time. No one said anything about Austin not being nicer then Norman but everyone has their opinion. And you believe it is 1000 times better. Is that kinda like a zillion times as my 5 year old would say?
As far as OU beating Texass every year . You either can't read or lack the I word you claim I insulted. Records show that OU has won the last 5. FIVE is not ever year.
Butt don't let any of the posts led you from your misquotes. I rather enjoy reading the replys of Teas sippers trying to put Oklahoma down and failing.
See ya at the annual OU romp over Texass in Dallas in Oct.
BTW Draggin man why didn't your QB Chase go to Texass?...Saw him go 2 fer 9 against the Okies last week in the Oil Bowl and maybe Texas recruiters know something..heheh
