That's right folks. The Rebels lose to Longview on purpose every year! My cousin played for and graduated from West Monroe. My dad said something about the Lobos going undefeated and losing to 6-4 South Garland in Bi-District (more than likely to tease him and see if he had a windy story!:p) and my cousin told my dad at Christmas that West Monroe always loses to Longview on purpose because the head coach wants them to lose and prepare them for the rest of the year in Lousyanna.:D He just can't stand to admit that Texas is better than Lousyanna!:D

I can follow this strategy...Madison loses district games to Smithson Valley on purpose every year...so we can 'surprise' them in the playoffs...:(

Funny.... I guess we better not tell him that Texas owns Lousiana about the last 5 years. I think Texas is around (15-2) in the last 5 years in 5A and
4A football games.

I guess it is only fair to admit that Longview was playing it's best ball in the first 5-6 games. After that it started going downhill....well except for the JT game which is arguably our biggest rival and the players were really pumped for one.

It was also our best game of the year IMO. Everything from play-calling to discipline was at it's best in that game. It's funny that some plays on offense that were very effective in that game were barely used again.
