That's a great job by them. Good reward for hard-working High school career. I was wondering how many, and who from Trinity would all end up getting offers.
From what it sounds, there is a few Juniors that will be playing on Saturdays also after next year.

I was hoping to get Vittatoe up in Denton. But I dont think Dickey offered him, all the more reason why Dickey needs to go. Congrats to all those guys,

I always wonder about Dickey recruiting... I know they've (North Texas) have had some very good Sun Belt Conference years the last few years but it seems like alot of the second-tier talent in the Metroplex doesnt get offered by Dickey ???
I always see a ton of kids in the Denton, Fort Worth and other surrounding areas that would probably be great players at North Texas and I'm not sure they really get offered or even looked at.....

Vittatoe committed to UTEP after his trip to El Paso this weekend.

Here is the article:
Vittatoe Makes Pick for UTEP
It appeared that Euless (Texas) Trinity quarterback Trevor Vittatoe was extremely close to making a commitment to Texas State just this past week, but his dad convinced him to take one more trip to UTEP. Apparently, that made things a lot clearer and easier to make his decision.
Trevor Vittatoe committed to UTEP over the weekend.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect returned from El Paso with his decision made and ready to go.
"I decided to go to UTEP," Vittatoe said about his decision. "I kind of did think I was going to go to Texas State, but my dad talked me into coming and it was a really good decision. I saw a lot of things that I didn't expect. It made me think back and I realized I had a better opportunity here than at Texas State."
Vittatoe also liked the surroundings that he would be living in for the next four to five years.
"I like the offense, but what was really cool was that here there aren't as many distractions than there is at other places," Vittatoe said. "I would be able to focus on football most of the time that I'm here."
The Miner quarterback commit was being recruited by coach Tim Duffie and he said that there has been a solid relationship since not only the beginning of his senior year but going back to his junior season.
The coaches also told me how excited they were for him to compete.
"They said that it was excellent and they didn't promise a redshirt meaning that I could maybe play in some games," he said. "If not, I'll redshirt and start for four years."
"After all this, I'm done. This is where I'm going and I'm not taking any more trips."
Heard that he committed to Texas State because it was the one year anniversary of his mothers death and though it would be neat to do it on that day.

Dickey seems to focus more on kids from outside othe metroplex. It does not make sense. He also gets a lot out of JuCos from Oklahoma and Kansas. This school is taking tremendous strides in its athletics. We are in the process of building a new stadium, have a state of the art football practice facility with a new football only center. The AD here Rick Villareal is a big time asset, he has made huge strides in turing this program around, the guys basketball program is on the upswing and our girls are leading the conference. Their is no reason for UNT not to be competing with the likes of a UTEP, TCU or Houston. It just frustrates me when Dickey does not seem all that interested in keeping kids in the metroplex home. Going to school in Denton is fun, it has a lot to offer and as far as academics are concerned we are improving every year. We are about to step into tier 2 status within the next few years. I think UNT can do better than Dickey and I dont think he has much room for error this coming year.

I think Vittatoe can be a good college player weather it be at Qb or somewhere else just based on his smarts, leadership, and athleticism.
I think Handy is very underlooked and is a diamond in the rough for some D-1 college out there.
