Well, I'm leaving here in 4 hours. Thanks for being friends with me while I was over here. I had a lot of fun the last 5 months on the forum and you guys might not realize that this place isn't like home. We couldn't go off base and we didn't drive around. There weren't restaurants to go to, either. I sure missed football and all sports since I didn't get to watch them often even though they were on TV. I really had a dislike for how some people acted above and below me in the chain of command and the forum was a relief from crappy people. Thanks. I'll probably post a little bit in Turkey and Germany on my way back to Texas. I'll be back in Texas in less than 34 hours.

I'll head down there in a few weeks. I have to find a house to move back into when I get back.

Check out these numbers:

Dorm on Camp Hialaeh Oct 97-Dec 98 (Got base housing after getting married)
House on Camp Hialeah Dec 98-Jul 99 (Made us move, but we got a bigger house)
House on Camp Hialeah Jul 99-Oct 01 (Time to move to Texas)
House in Converse Nov 01-Sep 03 (After deployment, moved to save money and have house my wife couldn't legally break into. Ended up getting bigger house and spending extra $20 for rent)
House in Converse Nov 03-Jun 04 (Moved because I was deploying)
House in Converse Sep 04-Apr 05 (Had to switch bases)
House in Wichita Falls Apr 05-Aug 05 (Moved because I was deploying)
Another house in Wichita Falls Jan or Feb 06-?

Welcome Home. Thank You. Fly Safe!
Thanks for all the kind words guys.

I flew safe, but it sure wasn't direct. Any time you're going to or coming back from a deployment, it takes basically 2 complete days without ever stopping for more than 3 hours. If you go to Asia and have to go back to Japan or Korea, it takes about 3 days. The last time I laid down in bed was 8 P.M. Saturday night if you're going by Texas time. I did sleep some on the first 4 flights, so I don't feel bad for 2:30 in the morning.

I'm in Longview now, but it was 5 flights, with stops in Turkey, Germany, Baltimore, Dallas, and finally Shreveport. My plane was broke in Baltimore when I got there and ended up taking off 2 and a half hours late, so I was going to miss the last flight into Longview and I changed my flight to Shreveport and thought my bags would get there with me. My bags didn't get to Shreveport, which makes me think they're still in Dallas and I have no idea where they'll send them tomorrow. Hopefully, they'll get sent to Longview because me and my dad have to drop his truck off at the airport tomorrow, so we can go to Wichita Falls and he'll fly back to Longview on the 25th.

I did kiss the ground one time coming back, but I sure didn't have time to do it when I landed in Dallas tonight. I went straight from the gate and got on the new rail system, and they started boarding for Shreveport about 4 minutes after I walked up to the gate. I didn't even have time to buy a newspaper.

I thought it was fitting to wear an old Soviet Air Force hat in honor of Lousyanna, but didn't do it when I got off the plane in Shreveport because I didn't want to embarrass my mom in case she was bragging on me. One time, right after I joined the Air Force, I came home in cutoff BDU's and she felt embarrassed because she said good stuff about me!:D

I bought that hat a few hours before I left because I needed to exchange most of the rest of my Kyrgyzstan money and Finance wasn't open on Sunday. I got some cool stuff at the CCCP Shop while I was over there. I got an old Kyrgyz Socialist Republic flag that's about 6 feet by 8 feet yesterday for $25. It's got the hammer and sickle on it with stripes that identify being the Kyrgyz flag. I bought some old Soviet money, got some more of the Iraqi money with Saddam on it, and even bought a Soviet war poster that's just like our old WWII posters about keeping secrets and not disclosing info to the enemy. It's so cool to see they were saying the same thing during the 40's and 50's as us in a different language. I bought books and videos about the country, an old winter cap and a Soviet Air Force flight cap, too.

I didn't like a lot of things about how the base was managed, but I will always look back on the last 5 months with fond memories because I openly worked on a base in the former Soviet Union and I never thought I'd do that during the 80's. Those guys have come over here for military stuff and they hung out on our bases a time or two, but we have our own self-supporting base set up in their country.

Yeah, I'll start looking some people up if I can stay in one place long enough to stop. Naturally, I'll always be in Dallas more than a lot of places in Texas.

The best part of the last 5 months is that I've become a lot better friends with a lot more people on here since I've been gone.

Like Big and Rich, I'm coming to your city!:D I'm thinking about closing out this divorce quickly (It's been hanging since Sep 03), taking another deployment in late April or early May to get some big-time bucks, and coming back with a vengeance in late August or early September.

I appreciate all the support. You guys know what it's like to be away from your family. I'm just looking for one more deployment and then I'll probably be good for a long time not having to go. I volunteered for this one and will do it again, but I should be safe from having to go as long as I'm in Wichita Falls. I think I can probably stay in Texas for quite a while, too.

Miss Kitty,

Ya'll have been a blessing for me, too. It's always good to have friends when you're surrounded by dirtbags and people you don't like or respect. I had some good friends in Kyrgyzstan and combined with the guys and gals on the board, I made it through 5 months over there with great service.

That's what you get for taking those Military hops riding cargo in a c-130 instead of shelling out the cash and flying commercial.:D

No, that's flying on contracted commercial aircraft. The Army makes people take crap aircraft, but we ride on the regular stuff and just have to make stops.

The only thing I don't like is the flight crews change after every leg, but we get out for a while and keep going without ever getting a chance to rest.

I have one question though; Do they teach you how to spell Kyrgyzstan or do you have it written on the back of your hand?

LOL, I say that all the time.

FOR THE RECORD: I don't have a problem with homosexual people, as long as they leave me alone. I'm not a homophobe. (is that how you spell it?)

Hey Lonny welcome back to Texas.

I have one question though; Do they teach you how to spell Kyrgyzstan or do you have it written on the back of your hand?
No, I just read it several times and typed it numerous times and I just know how to spell it. I sent an email to my grandmother on my parents computer and it told me I spelled Kyrgyzstan wrong because my mom saved it as the wrong spelling in the computer!:D I also shipped and received cargo from there and flew through there in 2003 when I went to Afghanistan.
