Game set for week zero, 2006. What do y'all think of that one?

Also, the Chaps will continue their series with A&M Cons. in their non-district schedule. Game should be at College Station, so automatic advantage the Tigers. The home team has won in the last five, if not six meetings.

If games can't "officially" be agreed upon until after realignment, then how can any of this talk about schedules be anything more than speculation?

For example, Abilene High is in a 6 team district now, but if the UIL moves them to an 8 team district then Abilene High will have two less pre-district games to schedule making you wonder why games would be scheduled now in the first place. Unless of course this game is part of Dave Campbell's thingy in which case it could be more concrete.

I'm not trying to discredit anything badger said, I just don't think anything is set in stone yet and this could change in less than a month.

It's easy to establish a non-district schedule for a few weeks. Even if you are in a 10-team district, you will have to have one non-district game. So you go and find someone you know isn't going to be in your district, or even better, not in your region, then you can make an agreement on a game. Most schools assume that they will be in an eight-team district, so coaches make hand-shake agreements on their first three games. You're right that they aren't official, but unless they get put in bigger than an eight-team district they usually stick. Now, if they end up in a six-team district they have to scramble for two more games to fill their schedule.

Plus, Abilene hosts their own week zero kickoff classic weekend. It is Cooper's year to host, so next year Abilene will host Westlake at Shotwell in week zero. Hence, them playing this year at Westlake.

Abilene will more than likely be in a 7-team district with Cooper, and 5 Metroplex schools.

Are the coaches thinking of this and trying to continue any LSWC rivalries that are going away?

If the Abilene schools do move to the Metroplex, you can bet they are going to try and keep playing the Midland/Odessa schools as much as possible in pre-district.

This could be laughed at, and if its speculation then it is what it is, but I think we have Abilene on our schedule too. Either week one or two. Out of our three non district games, this is the one i'm almost 95% sure on.

I'm 100% positive that Westlake is our zero week game next year. My other two guesses are Leander and A&M Consolidated.

man that is a weak schedule ;)

at Lewisville I hear our schedule was Anna, Melissa and Bonham. After we started 3-0 I found myself begging to be in the top 10 then all the sudden I woke up and baseball had not even stated yet. :)
