A very simple thought...This year we were ranked #1 in every pre-season poll & throughout the season...I'm really excited about next season, because...we don't know what we've got..but I bet it's gonna be pretty good....Who's gonna beat the Dragons?

one thing i'm almost sure of, the guru bros won't risk their title picking streak with slc this summer. lp will be the choice, imo.

I know what you mean... sometimes when you root for a great team you can get ahead of yourself... set yourself up for disapointment. I tend to be over optimistic when things aren't going so good and everyone else is down on my team... and when everyone else is on the bandwagon and talking of greatness... I tone it down and be a little pessimistic.. talk about what is wrong more than what is right.

As a former New Braunfels Unicorn..whats a Matador but a guy who dances with bulls? Did we have some names in our district or what?...Unicorns, Rattlers, Ducks, Antlers, Matadors...this was way back you know...

How did this happen? I could never lose my loyalty to the Mats. Even if I lived in Southlake. I wonder who he would go for if NB went 5a and played SL.

I think they'll go for LP, too. That's the safe bet. They played it safe this year and came out like roses with SLC, Katy, SV, LP, ET, Judson, and Westfield all getting to the semis and starting the year in the Top 9. Cove checked in at 8 and got beat in the quarterfinals by LP and Longview got upset in Bi-District.

I think he's the one that hasn't always lived up there. Sometimes, you move away and your kids go to school someplace else and you develop new ties. I haven't lived in Mt. Pleasant since 1991, but I still root for them. I have better ties to Judson now than I do to MP. As time goes by, my ties to Judson might weaken since I had to move away. I guess the best thing to say is that you can't capture yesterday. I'm sure he's still proud of New Braunfels, but it's never the same after you move away. You'll see that as time goes by.

I love New Braunfels, but I moved away many years ago..I'm a many year veteran of Wurst Fest and my sister still lives there. I actually lived in the Spring Branch area at the time, which is now part of the Smithson Valley area..I guess I would have gone there if it had been around...I always had a good excuse for missing school if it rained hard..I lived on the other side of Rececca Creek and could always claim the water was too high to cross!

When you become more seasoned, as I am, you will have probably lived in a lot of places after high school, as I have...I've been here in Southlake for 13 years and have enjoyed it a lot...My 8th grader started school here and I would love for him to become my 3rd Carroll grad, and the first to go all 12 as a Dragon....as Strakedrake likes to say, we've been cultivating our arrogance for a long time....:D

I hope we do get to meet again..it would mean we both made the semis again...this year should be a treat for us, as it is a lot like 02, when we just did'nt know for sure what was going to happen...lots of reloading to do this year

hah your kidding right i mean seriously? we went from 0-10 to 13-1, not to mention that loss being to the number 1 team in the nation especially after we scared them shitless being up 10 going into the fourth, katy nor lufkin can say that now...so dont be saying things that conclude us to suck because we dont and trust me not one SLC player could say they wanted that game more than anyone of our players because we were so underrated no one expected us to play that well, and dont worry were lifting harder than we ever have.

Well with that logic how do you expect SLC to look at Plano? All you are to them is one of the teams of 63 that they have beaten. By the way you didn't scare southlake ********, they've been behind many times and come back to win in the last 4 years, that's what makes them champions, but then again I would'nt expect someone from recent plano history to understand a champion.

not one Carroll player wanted it more than a plano player because plano was underrated? I don't think that I understand that comment. It just does not make any sense. going 0-10 to 13-1 is an impressive accomplishment, but it was not in back to back seasons which you imply.

I can't believe that somebody was actually arrogant enough to start a thread like this. Any given weekend even a great team can have a let down. The only team that should be on anybody's mind at this point in time is the first one on their schedule.

This not true. When I played a long time ago, when the schedule came out in February there were always one or two games that the team looked forward to more than the others and we talked about them. I am sure that all teams are the same way.

My point is, we don't know what we are going to have next year..not that no one can beat the Dragons....I voted for Lufkin to win it all, with all the talent returning..I'm sure the Dragons will be good also..it will be exciting to see it all unfold...

My Green colored glasses are off. I know that it is fun for people to look ahead at what could happen. Nobody knows the schedule yet. I do not play football for Carroll. I have no responsibility to stay focused on the next game. Most people on this message board do not have to stay focused on the next game. It is fun to look ahead at what could be next season. Carroll can lose, but they have not in a while, and that is the reason why this thread was started in January. It is fun in the offseason to go back and forth with playful banter and a little trash talking. If you do not want to participate don't. You do not need to call a dragon poster arrogant because he wanted to start up a little trash talk. Whether you like it or not the Dragons are the team to beat. They are the two time defending champs and everybody wants to see their team beat Carroll. Hopefully Lufkin gets another chance, especially if they are in Region 3, which would mean in the championship game. Carroll would then win their third consecutive state championship in Texas Stadium.

yah it was also a late hit, and it would have been a different game if you didnt, plus almost our whole team was juniors, and yall have lost the starters yall had sense their sophmore year, and we still got ours. and last time i checked charles uno our running back the one that got 2 more yards then justin jorden with less carries, this year is supposed to be the best year allen has seen for a while!
