Pads on and no more touch football...

JV has some real talent, but they haven't been able to pull it together. Great receivers, but I don't think they have a QB to get them the ball.

Really? Predictions on a scrimmage?
Rod, it might be time for a 10-day hobby. Have you tried creating a facebook page? Maybe going to barber college at night?
Ooh, I've got it- make a list of the top-50 places to go for post-win afterglow since it sounds like your Kats and the Panthers are going to need a long list this season. :Music

Atually, I was trying to start a post on Westfield but there is just not too much to talk about...I think we all know Jacoby is the man and that Westfield is down this year...anything else we need to talk about?
And for the record, I asked for any thoughts on the scrimmage not predictions...:D You probably would have a much larger audience for your rants about scrimmages in the Sticky Thread called SCRIMMAGES...give it a shot I am sure everyone else would love to hear from you.
But you know I always like your opinion even when it is just a rodjohns slam..

I'm not worrying about scrimmages. Honestly, I had to look at the schedule to find out if WHS had played their first already- turns out, they haven't (it's this Friday vs. Aldine).
If you want "thoughts," here they are:
"They're scrimmages. Teams are going through the motions and will evaluate tape on how the linemen play as a unit, the CBs keep with WRs, and try out different blitzes and stunts to see how someone reacts when they don't know what's coming. Thankfully, the coaches worry about the score of them as much as they worry about JV and freshman scores. But they still won't show too much since other coaches will be there for advanced scouting."
Is that better, Grand Master Johnson?

I would expect klein to roll -- I mean you have the 13-5A favorite (according to RJ) VS the team expected to finish next to last in 15-5A.

I'd expect klein to roll through jersey village without much of a contest. Why is Jerey Village so bad year in and out? They always have a pretty decent amount of talent. Coaching?

Is that because the traditional CFISD power houses are in a down year, JV is much improved, or CF just plain sucks this year.

What are the lines on this scrimmage?
I heard the early line out of Vegas is Klein minus-27. Any thoughts on which way I should go? I need some extra money to pay off my Pinto.

Actually it has just been about the past 3 years. I don't really know why. They do have decent talent. I have heard knocks on the coaching, but its the same coaching that was winning games in the years past. Maybe they just aren't buying into the 155A concept of all offense and no defense?!!!!!

I'd get a loan on your pinto equity and then put it on JV.

That's right. I keep forgetting that fact. Mostly assistants, right? The HC is still there? Snodgrass or something?
Maybe that's why they have not been doing well. The real think-tank is gone.

Some were at JV when Selvin Young was there. I think one year they went to the State Semi's?

No, could not go.....I heard it was re-scheduled for Saturday am. Did you go. How did the teams do? The board was down and I was like a drug addict without his fix......of football news......

So, what's the report on the scrimmage? Did they look as stout as was expected?
Unfortunately, I had to work, so I didn't get to check out the scrimmage, though I heard from a buddy that the coaches seemed to get what they wanted out of it. He didn't say anything else other than that.

I was there Friday night to see about 20 mins of the JV then the lightning started. I was not aware it was rescheduled so I missed it Saturday. On the Falls thread, an Oak fan (I beleive) said that Oak probably won about 21-14. He was probably tralking about the simulated game protion. From the sounds of it, Oak looked solid as expected and maybe Falls looked better than expected.

Good to hear that Cy-Falls looks better than advertised. The game at Pridgeon 2 years ago was epic, so I'm hoping for the same next Friday.
