the panthers "d" will be too much to handle. the panthers already have a good run defense, and with alexander coming back but he many be a non-factor in the game. that forces the load on matt hasslebeck's shoulders who did well last game against washington...but that was washington. now he faces a formidable defense that will prevail. on the offensive side of the ball, obviously seattle's main attention will be on steve smith. that means the other panthers receivers have to stand up, which they havent done so far in the playoffs. hasslebeck has several solid receivers to go to, but the real question lies in him being able to lead his team if alexander doesnt do much.

I know that I may go the other way with this game, but I think that the Panther have the best chance to win this game because they have been on a roll, Steve Smith has been unstoppable at this point and the defense has been playing well and tough all season long. If the Seahawks can stop Smith and figure out a way to get through that tough Panther defense, then Seattle may have a chance.

My original prediction was Seattle, but I had a dream a few days ago that Carolina creamed the Seahawks. A sign perhaps??? I hardly ever dream about football.

DeShaun Foster and Stephen Davis are out, so its RB Nick Goings against Seattle's run defense. Carolina is trying to be the first team to win 5 straight road playoff games. The Panthers are 8-2 on the road this season and John Kasay has made 21 of 23 FG's in playoff games. Seattle is 23-4 at Quest Field since the end of the 2002 season, including 9-0 this season and Shaun Alexander will start on Sunday. I'm picking the Seahawks.

I have $10 on the Seahawks so they will win. :D
OTHER THAN THAT: I think Alexander will have a huge game, and I know its the playoffs now, but Dallas beat Carolina, but not Seattle (or washington, oakland, st. louis, and denver)

Watch out for Steve Smith :)
I think he will be the x-factor in this game for Carolina like all the games this year he has been unstoppable and Seattle has to stop him in order to play the Steelers in the Super Bowl. Smith is a very dangerous player in this game and must be contained in this game.

so much for alexander's concussion. nearly 120 yards and a td and its only the start of the 4th quarter. shows how he deserved the mvp.

The Seahawks win has brought me back to even at 5-5 in playoff picks. The Panthers showed us what we already know in that without a running game their can be no passing game. Steve Smith was double covered all night. My heart tells me to go with Seattle in the Super Bowl, but my mind is telling me otherwise. I'll have to think about it before making my Super Bowl pick.

I can't believe the poll was pretty much 50-50 on who would win. I thought seattle was on a roll. They showed that today
