The sho? Oh , I get it ...North Sho. I don't know if it would be the match up in the state but it would be one that all Pack fan's would attend. Well, that's not fair - we attend all of the games - okay, it would be a good one.

It would be a great match-up and would be beneficial to both teams. Lufkin has been blowing through district the last couple of years and not really getting a challenge to toughen them up for the play-offs. It will be good to add a quality team like N. Shore to the schedule. Lots of speed on the field, it would be a great game.

I just hope we start playing each other in non district. And if y'all go region three we could be looking at a all East Texas state championship game some day.

I am in big favor of Shore playing some tougher teams. You can't gage your team when they blow weak opponents out. I'd like to see Shore meet Lufkin, Westfield ,and Katy every year- win or lose.

Lufkin and NS are not going into the same district. Lufkin is not playing NS in non-district. Lufkin going to Region III, not likely. However, Lufkin IS playing Longview in non-district in 2006. They are coming to Abe Martin.

I don't know how sure I am in all of this, just trying to stay logical about all the possibilities and believe me it is hard to say logical and U.I.L. together. The things that are sure because John told us in a meeting, that Lufkin is planning to play Longview in non-district @ Abe Martin and that NS is not currently on our non-district schedule. The rest is just trying to assert some logic into this speculation. No one down south wants Lufkin in their district and none of them want to travel to Lufkin to play games, most schools down south just don't budget to travel like that, whereas Lufkin has always had the travel money in their budget and we don't mind travel. Just not down to PA or Baytown, it's too far south and they can find at least one school that is much closer than Lufkin to round out that SE TX district.

You never know? I am just amazed how they dropped off so quickly?? They were tough as hell when Lufkin started playing them in 2000 (Lufkin leads 5-1 vs Ike only losing in 2000) but now the game is a annual blow out. Hey PA, i thought the Ike series was over? I was hoping it was? Outlaw acted like they were done playing Ike after the game last year.

Did he really just say that?? :eek: You act like it has never happened before? Lufkin and Longview has played 61 times with Lufkin leading 31-30 overall. Lufkin has won the last 9. Longview fans love hearing about that streak 1 million times a year so fill free to tell them about it when you get a chance. :D

hmmm....someone is setting themselves up for a big let down. What if Claybon goes down again(which I hope he doesn't)?

I don't think you can rule out the chance of Longview beating Lufkin. Yeah, Lufkin will be loaded and rated highly but in grudge matches like this one you just have to watch and see. It will be very difficult for Longview considering we will be young and inexperienced and the game will be at the very beginning of the season.

IMO the defense will be very similar to last year's. They will be fast but not particularly big, but that's about par for Longview.

The offense will be the big question. Quarterback is 5'10'' but has a very good arm. At the moment we don't have any big receivers but if we can just find some that can catch Longview will be able to pass some. Two good runners in the backfield again. All this depends on the development of a young, below average Oline. Longview should be competitive.

Whether it be a district or non district game this is a game that needs to happen. Many want to discredit what Coach Aymond and the Mustangs have done over the last 12 yrs for lack of big game wins. So a win over a team such as Lufkin would possibly bring some credit from those who still doubt the program. No too mention it would be one hell of a game for any football fan.

North Shore vs lufkin is a series that needs to happen.... lufkin needs to drop Ike and add us to the schedule... I think it would be a good matchup... Ike has long lost thier luster... and hopefully they get it back soon.. they have good athletes and its a shame they arent playing to thier potential... but IKE i dont think is confident going into ABE to play anymore.. they are shell shocked and have been i a tail spin the past 4 years..... North Shore would not be intimidated by lufkin at ABE... now.. would they win? maybe, or maybe not... but.. I think the game would be a barn burner.... and would be beneficial for both programs... especially so early in the season.....Lets make it happen....:eek:
