That can't be right. Texas HS football is pure. :D
2009 is fast becoming known as the year of the transfer.
College Park could use a kicker. Some of my former classmates now have kids 16 - 18. One of them is bound to be a rugby kicker. Might give them a call :D

I wonder what would take a family from the Dallas Lincoln attendance zone to the Cedar Hill attendance zone. It's a mind boggling 22 mile drive ;)

the question should be what made him transfer initially to lincoln in the first place. mason played jr high and freshmen ball for cedar hill then transferred to lhs.
now that he is back people are going to have some serious matchup problems because mason is just as big as ben malena and just as fast; it not faster:eek:

True enuff he is very good but not better as a running back then Ben malena....But it does make Malena better with him there...you cant just key on malena anymore....But if you did it still did'nt matter i see cedar hill rushing for at least 450 a game....

Out of curiosity, was his 1st year at Lincoln in JV? Because that does not sound like a non-athletic reason to transfer.

Very valid question and I did not know that. But you are right, that is a great question. Did he continue to live in CH when he played for Lincoln?
I believe he had family that lived in the dallas lincoln district and was living with them while he was attending lincoln (perhaps there were more personal reasons for his move to lincoln). However, one of his parents (not sure which one) has always lived in CH so he moved back home for whatever reason, after all he did grow up in CH. Maybe he wants to graduate with his friends he started high school with.
For those of you that are uneducated as to how students transfer between DISD, CH, DUNC, and DeSoto, listen up. There are many many many split families in that area and students will often transfer more than once during their high school career for a numerous amount of family situations, social situations at school, or class credit situations for graduation. Since there immediate family members or guardians live in multiple districts then they have options for these situations. Hopefully that sheds some light on the situation, not all transfers are for athletic purposes.

It was the better educational opportunities at Dallas Lincoln.
And Carroll gets grief when someone moves into our district and they actually purchase a home, Southlake has no apartments and no town house rentals at all.

Try again. Believe me the immediate family excuse doesn't fly. Many cases are with cousins, brothers, uncles, etc. That is not immediate family if the home situation still exists. That is directly related to athletics in a lot of cases. A home visit and interview would reveal many of the reasons. Policing this kind of stuff would alleviate many of these discussions. It also produces grief for the kid. You can blame it on both of the coaches that sign off on it too.

We are attempting to rebuild our program so if we are lucky we will make the playoffs. We will kick the crap out of Coppell though. It may be our only district win unless we can squeak one out against Lewisville or Flower Mound. Everyone else is just so much better than we are. Our only focus right now is on Coppell and in order to beat Arlington we may have to take out Scott Peach on the sideline and hurt him so he cannot coach the entire game. Maybe take him out during warm ups. ;)

Truth is, if the transfer has already been approved, it is okay. No matter what any of us says or does not say. My sarcasm stems from some of the non-approved transfers that were Rita/Katrina related.

Mason Hayes' mother owns her home in Cedar Hill.
He played at Cedar Hill's Middle School and at Cedar Hill High School his 9th grade year. He moved in with his Grandmother ,who lives in the Lincoln, his Sophomore year to help her. He is now living with his mother and legal guardian in Cedar Hill. The mother never moved. His 2 younger brothers have lived with mom and played for Cedar Hill the last 2 years. This transfer is 100% legit. I promise you that McGuire would not put any team in jeopardy for a transfer.
