I don't know how else to explain that game.
I will say this, until Vince Young gets drafted, Big Ben is my favorite QB in the NFL.

The Steelers deserved to win that game. I mean, the Colts commited murder in that game. When Manning got sacked in the endzone, his feet were on the white line so that should be a safety, but the refs said that he was down on the one. Also when Polomalu got the interception, it looked like it was clean until it hit his foot, so the Colts challenged it and the refs ruled it an incomplete pass when Polomalu clearly had possesion of the ball. But when it was all said and done, the Colts drove all the way down the field only to have Vanderjact to miss the easy field goal. Enough said.

i never knew kicking a 46 yard fg with 20 seconds left to send your team into overtime was easy.

For the most accurate kicker in the NFL 46 yards should not be too hard. But not only did he miss it, he was like a mile off so yes it was all about the pressure.

game was not even close if not for the bs calls and a few freak plays. The steelers dominated.

grandma is going to be happy. she likes the steelers because of Bill Cowher. always calls me to let me know that Bill Cowher and the steelers won, I usually tell her thats great and I dont follow the NFL that much, she then proceeds to lecture me on how I'm not American because football is better than baseball, at that point I hang up the phone.

Well I thought it was going to be an easy kick for him since he was accurate at home.

Even when the Colts cheat and get all the right cals, and even when God himself allows the Colts to have what seems like 300 opportunities to score, they still cant do it. They always seem to come up 10 yards wide in the playoffs.
I love the Colts but you can ask any of my friends in the room when we were watching that game, the minute the announcer told everyone that Vanderjagt is the "most accurate kicker in the NFL" the first thing I said was "he'll miss the kick"

That would have been the NFL Houdini act of all time if Indy had come back and won that game. Pitt completely outplayed them.
My favorite play of the game wasn't really even a play. Both teams jump off side and the refs conference for five minutes, and then rule that no infraction was committed on the play. Top draw comedy right there.

i know. he shouldve made it, but it wasnt going to be a walk in the park kind of a kick.

Some of the calls were beyond comprehension. I am not a conspiracy theorist but it sure seemed very odd?? I mean you could go on and on and on about a zillion calls in that game that happened to be all against the steelers. I am talking blatant ones. The pass interference, a few spot's, the interception ruled incomplete, the no infraction call when the colt's were clearly offsides and touched the opposing team?? It was craazy!! I thought it was justice when the kicker missed the fg. I was beyond pissed before that kick. Porter will get his fine because he already said the NFL and the refs wanted the Colts to win for ratings. I would usually say he is talking crazy but i am close to believing it after that game. Many announcers and sports radio guys have said the same thing. This game needs to be looked at and those refs need to be held accountable.

That's true. Making a game-winning field goal in the playoffs is far more difficult than making a game-winning field goal in the regular season because the game is big and it is do or die from that point and you only have one shot at getting it right because it will be crucial later on.

If you make about $1,602,000.00 a year, you really need to make that kick.

The NFL has come out today and actually criticized the intercetption call that was ruled incomplete. For the NFL to actaully admit that one of their refs made a bad call is huge. I dont know if that official will be fired but I have a feeling that he wont be a referee next year, most likely he will now become a back judge.

Yeah and Joey Porter said that the refs were cheating the Colts and he thought that they were trying to give the game to Indy.

How can that catch by Polomalu be ruled an incomplete pass. Polomalu caught the ball rolled over about three times and fumbled when trying to start running. If Polomalu has stayed on the ground and not tried to run, then it would have been an interception - no question. That was a 'homer' ref call if ever I saw one.

Everybody in the house was screaming at the TV right then. That should have been a false start against the Steelers. The refs didn't see the flinch (I'm glad) but how can you say there was no penalty on the play. The whole D-Line was in the neutral zone.

The football gods were pulling for the Colts the whole game - look at the buses fumble - the no calls - and the bad calls.
