Next to football, one of our rowdiest crowds is for our soccer teams at TWHS. When we were at the state quarterfinals, we played Garland Sachse high school, it was tied at 1-1 through the entire game and overtime, so we went into a PK situation, and the crowd won it for the woods. It must have been one of the most exciting moments of the year for the Woodlands high, or well it ranks up there in my mind

so, have u been to any soccer games? and if you know about your team, lets throw some predictions out there!!

I say The Lady Highlanders take state this year.:)

Yes. And Lowrey Field is a horrible place to play soccer. I hope Tech can give a good rate to LISD for some of the games to be played at their new soccer stadium.

There is such a big gap between the stands and the field (due to the track) and the wind just carries the ball everywhere. More times than not, kids will spend lots of time chasing the ball down just to throw it in. I wish they would put some borders around the field so at least the ball will have a chance to stay in close. About 20 seconds or more is used up when they have to do this each time. Either bring in borders or bring in more NFHS approved soccer balls that are ready to be used.

I hate soccer at Lowrey.

Ya I've been to a few with the Rocket Rowdies. I went to one in 34 degree weather, I went to a CC Carroll vs Judson game and one of Carroll's players had a free kick and turned and kicked it at us and then trid to fight us. It was pretty funny.

But my favorite was when we played Stevenes in the 1st round. We had alot of people like basketball season.

I believe the only soccer game I went to was years ago and it was Victoria Memorial against Judson in a playoff game. I don't even remember who won lol

This girl I worked with at HEB dragged me along with her.

Went to a ton in HS. Our teams were very good. Dated a couple of players onthe girl's team and they made the state tournament my Sr. year.

Went back to a couple when Matt McNew was playing for them. Farmerfan will recall him fondly.

Soccer is still like watching paint dry for the most part. The good news is that sometimes the paint dries faster than others. Still, I will go and support the kids on the team, as it is important to them. Plus the Carroll boys and girls appear to be pretty decent in the game.

I had to attend one for the school newspaper. I told the editor never to send me to waste my time like that again...and to prove my point the story I wrote on it was the biggest amount of garbage I've ever written in my life. Something along the lines of... "The white team kicked the ball. They kicked the ball again and ten minutes later they were still kicking the ball. All of the 21 people in attendence are nearly on their feet...to exit."

Lets just say it never got published.

Soccer games here in Garland go almost unnoticed. At an average game there may be 50 people, max, from both teams total, at the game....most games, less than 25.....even the parents don't go......
