Sox are 8-0 against the yanks as of right now. Despite the dominance the Sox are 2.5 back. A huge 4 game series begins tonight in the Bronx. Thank God for the newly formed MLB network so I can watch this thing. Sox are sending Smoltz to the bump and the yanks counter with Mr I have too muich emotion Joba. Joba pitching extremely well right now and Smotlzy showing his age. This one could get ugly for Sox fans and joyful for yankee fans.
Ill go ahead and say that the Sox take 3 of 4 in this series. I like the pitching matchups for Boston in this series outside of tonight. Should be fun. I just hope a repeat of a series back in the month of August '05 does not repeat itself :Censor:

The Rangers have the team to do it this year. If they want to be a contender then they need to do something about it. You have to beat the best to be the best.;)

I beg to differ. You all can go ahead and wait until next March and win a game or two in Florida

But seriously Dr E, I am hoping for another ALCS matchup between the two teams. If that happens then I would strongly suggest you buy some stock in Anheiser Busch after the Division series are done. :D

I would not be opposed to such an ALCS series. Maybe we could meet again at Christina's to watch the one or two such games in their bar.

That would work for sure. I was in Southlake today and did not realize there was a Cristinas off of Southlake Blvd. I think I could enjoy a Rita or fine Mexican beer watching baseball.

FWIW, The yankee fans gave Papi a great ovation tonight. Some will say hypocrisy but I say payback. They were relentless during his atbat. Its great to have this rivalry having a lot of meaning in the dog days of summer

The Rangers are so lucky that Andruw Jones decided to actually play baseball this year unlike last year when he was with the Dodgers. That game where he hit 3 homers against the Haols matched his season total last year.

Do you think Smoltz is going to start again for the Sox, farmerfan? He usually has one bad inning that he gets lit up on and the team is put in a sizeable deficit. He was doing good today but got smashed around in the 4th.

I don't think they should start him anymore. He can't get out of jams this year.

Of the three bolded, I was right about the first game. Sox already mnade a move in regareds to Smoltz. Its sad to see him get lit up like that but he just needs to hang it up.
Sox pitched well enough to win the other 3 games, yankees just pitched better. When you go 30+ innings without schoring a run I don't know how you can possibly win.
As for the final one, :Censor::Censor::Censor::Censor:

Its time for the Sox to also do somethign about Tek, the guy is hitting .040 the last 3 weeks and has not had his swing since the '04-'05 season. He is aging and is of no value to this ball club anymore. Hopefully this little slide will fix itself but man it sure hasn't been pretty here of late.
