Cinco Ranch Right now is a very overlooked school seriously,
last year they had i think the number 1 defense in the kisd district and 6 starters were juniors, so they will be back next year, the offense is wut sucked but next year they are gonna be good, the o line has two 300 pounders and not one of those horrible starters from last season
actually the offense should be wut makes them real good
a quarterback started about half the games on varsity last yr as a junior and can throw a mile
they run a two tailback set
RB Garrett Forward- he there top tb he run a 4'3 or a 4'4 and he squats 425 and started on varsity last yr but he had school problms so he missed 6 games
RB2 Thomas Hide was on there 9-1 Jv soon to be varsity player, i don't know his strengths, but he had a goog 1100 yards and over 10 tds on jv and he ways about 205
i think cinco is gonna dominate next year

Well thanks for your great backup stats, etc. but I highly doubt Cinco will beat Katy next year. They had their chance going undefeated into Rhodes vs. the Tigers when the Cougars had Austin Morgan and Quito Teasley. They came up I think 3 touchdowns short...
They showed their true colors being upset by a Jesuit team who had only beat Hastings and then Cinco did the unbelievable and lost 3 in a row, this time where it counted, ending their season versus Kempner in the first round.
-a quarterback starting as a junior is really not a big deal.
-a lot of schools run an offense with 2 TB's but are the Cougars really a threat at tailback? I thought this was the school that ran a similar offense that resembling the west coast offense.
-a troubled TB who supposedly runs a 4.4 (who times these things?) who missed 6 games and a TB coming up from JV should give potential to your season but don't count on it. Talk about your returning QB not some TB's who haven't proven anything yet.
I see Cinco in the playoffs next year with Katy, Strake Jesuit and Elsik.

Cinco Ranch will be ok but they still have a long way to go before they are gonna compete with Katy...
So what's new. We hear this every year. Clayton is a good coach and we are all waiting for the Cougars to bust loose on the field. Till then, keep on talkin'.

maybe it is true, you do here it alot, but i don' t go to cinco anymore but i do know alot of players and the defense will dominate like they did this year and i think that if the offense is good they will do pretty good, quieto teasley i knew personally and he was extremely overated, tre newton is better as a sophmore than he was as a senior, and he was too cocky, austin morgan is known for being a choke artist, in the katy taylor game he sucked, he actually didn't get a scholarship for football, only for baseball, and thats probally because he chokes, and the only reason the qb had to wait till his junior year to start is because of austin morgan being there his sophmore year

There is no animosity towards CR. Besides we owe them a little something. Good Luck to CR next year.

Try not to talk about beating a team like katy when you end up missing the playoffs. Cinco did have Qb problems and maybe should have made the playoffs but Katy isnt going to be as weak these next 2 yrs as u think it is. This next yr could or could not be a dropoff yr, but will stilll win district, and after that the sophomore class is one of the most highly toted classes in a while. Cinco will finish making the playoffs but not beating katy.

There's nothing like January trash talk. :)
Especially when they have no clue what they are talking about.
Look Jeffrey, I wouldn't suggest talking about how Cinco is going to beat Katy and "dominate" until they actually do it. Clayton hasn't figured out a way to beat KHS yet, so why would we have any reason to believe next year is going to be any different? Sheffey (the coach at Mayde Creek, for those of you keeping score) has had YEARS to beat Katy and still hasn't pulled it off. Granted, I regard Clayton as a better coach than Sheffey, but this trash talk on behalf of the Cougars is obviously an uninformed statement.
By the way, this thread was an excellent use of your first post. Welcome to the boards.

I'll give you three good reasons why Cinco will not dominate Katy...Levi Mitchell, Aundre Dean and Michael Fuda. Oh, and one more, Coach Joseph.

and what has Levi Mitchell done above the sophomore team level to make you think he is a reason Katy will be good. I'll agree Katy is going to be good..its KATY...but c'mon now. He hasn't even taken a snap againts an opponent other than sophomores..so an incoming junior QB with no experience better be good..or else Fuda will be taken out of the equation as well. Atleast list experienced players like Ryan Williams or Tyler Mueller who actually did something on varsity this year. Dean though....Dean will be a force. I just hope the completely new OL can gel quick enough to give him running room

I love how there is so much talk about Cinco beating Katy..... But come on men it all comes down to the team that plays the best TOGETHER and thats what katy is coached to do! Besides im pretty sure Katy has many more things to focus on! Look forward to all next years matchups! :D

When did the State Championship happen? Like a month ago? Jesus already trash talk... I agree with KT2000... it's only January, give all those players you can think of an offseason and see where they are then. Fuda was running a 4.48 before the season and is now running a 4.35(hard to believe I know). An offseason can change a player drastically. Garrett is very fast and strong, wait to brag about him AFTER offseason, he can't do anything but get better if he tries. I will not make a prediction on the game because many people have already gave my opinion on who will win. Katy's front 7 will be amazing next year, so get a deep threat... or 5 if your name is SLC.;)

When the closest you've ever coming to beating your "rival" is 14-35, January seems a little early for trash talking.

I'm still amazed to how ANYONE can start a thread saying CRHS will beat Katy. Maybe mention it in a thread or something, but why embarass yourself so openly?
Saying ANYONE will dominate Katy is an ignorant statement. They are Katy, they always will be Katy that adapts and plays up to their opponent. and It's Cinco, guys, come on! Gregory? Running a 4.4.? I mean, I knew Cinco was rich, but paying the timers to lie? I've seen him run, he's not as fast/faster than Brandon King, Aundre Dean, Will Thompson. I mean, really guys, like I said, this is all that needs to be said, but, COME ON! Nobody will ever DOMINATE Katy... Especially, *teh heh*, Cinco Ranch!

Andy Dalton hadn't taken snaps against anybody except for the sophomore team as well before he split time with Gayheart his junior year, and look how well he did. I wouldn't be so quick to doubt him.

Keywords: SPLIT time. He didn't have all the pressure on him to carry the team. He also wasn't nearly as impressive his junior year as he was his senior year. I'm not saying Mitchell can't do it, but don't say he's going to be a reason why Katy will be good next year...yet. No one can say Dalton was a main reason Katy went 12-2(yes at Katy that's not good, but most teams would give anything for that finish) in 2004 when he was a junior QB splitting time. Or goto the 2003 state championship team. If you ask the majority of Katy fans that watched that season, I doubt very few would say Gayhart (who split time as a junior that year) was one of the main reasons Katy went all the way.

I'm assuming your a Katy fan, that's just doing a little time in Huntsville.:D
Whoever the Katy quarterback is next year, they will be a factor. Your right, Levi, did not get the opportunity to play in a varsity game, but he was very very good as a Sophmore, which is the reason he will be the starting QB. From what I hear he is giving up baseball to concentrate on football. I'm pretty sure from his throwing stats that he will be able to get the ball to both Fudas. Throw Andre into the mix and you have a pretty potent offense.

All I have read is "I think". If you don't know then don't bring it up. Learn your facts before you start talking. Yes Cinco has a great defense and they are a good team, but they are not the best. Nor are we, but Katy would never let Cinco win. Esp. after what Cinco did in '04 to Taylor when they won.

If by time you mean furthering my education at a university(even though I freakin hate this school), then yes, I'm doing time. And yes I'm a former Katy player and fan. I'm not trying to sound like I am doubting Levi's talent, I just don't want us putting too much pressure and stock into the kid just yet. I hope he gives up baseball to concentrate on football or else he will miss spring ball, and we saw what giving us baseball did for Dalton. Although, if he really enjoys playing baseball I'd also say not to quit something you love doing if you can do both. But for the sake of the football team, him concentrating solely on one sport would help him progress a lot.

Whoever the quarterback...I'm hoping by pressure you mean that everyone won't be comparing him to Andy Dalton. If they do, every time he makes a mistake, fans will get down on him...They might forget about the interceptions Andy has thrown.
Of all the JV and Soph. QB's I watched this year, Levi has the best composure and will handle the pressure.
Who will be Cinco's QB? What's his experience? Who will be the factors around him?

Well I think you and I both know we have a large number of "bandwagon" fans here at Katy and a lot of the not nearly as educated student body added to those bandwagoners, can sometimes make for harsh comparisons. The devouts shouldn't have this type of chatter coming from their mouths, but it's going to come from somewhere, believe me. Going into this season I heard a lot of talk about comparing Brandon King to James Aston, when in reality, there is no comparison. Its the nature of high school football, you see it every year on every team, fans compare new upcoming players to the great ones of the season before and how exactly they are going to fill their shoes. Sometimes they suprise everyone and do just that and way beyond, other times, as expected, they don't perform to the level the team aquired the year before. I wish the best of luck to Levi this off-season and that he busts his butt to develop more physically and come spring he really pays attention to all the details to develop more mentally. The quarterback has to be a leader, so I'm hoping he steps up.

Folks, Katy won the State Championship in 1997 with a JR. Quaterback. In 1999 they were runner-up with a JR. also. So, lets just say that the QB position will be contested early in non-district and a leader will emerge. I do think Cinco will be better and should contend but to say the will win in Jan. is a little far fetched. Katy has some holes to fill also but should be really strong on defense and if the line gels well who knows. Katy could possibly lose a game or 2 early but remember Matt Gore never lost a game he started.
Enough said.
