You may vote more than once but do not vote for your own team. Let's try and eliminate homer picks.

There are some, as far as real blood rivalries, but most in this area occur in 4A and on down.
If I had to pin point a few in 5A in the DF DUB, I'd say these...
Plano - Plano East
Mesquite - North Mesquite
Garland - South Garland
Trinity - L.D. Bell
Duncanville - Desoto

Abilene vs. Abilene Cooper gets the whole town involved
i heard Weatherford thinks Abilene is a rival or something??
probably like Grapevine and thinks Southlake is a rival
idk if they're rivals, but i'd like to see 4A Aledo, Everman, and Stephenville all play each other

I was thinking the same thing, but I let him roll with it. Ours would be Grapevine or Coppell.

Yep. Abilene - Abilene Cooper was listed awile back on PrepTicket as one of the top 10 rivalries in Texas.
Everman and Stephenville are and their in the same district, but no where near the rivalry that Stephenville and Brownwood have.

There are special circumstances involved there since they have arguably been the dominant teams of a decade that's about to come to an end.

What about Allen? Somehow it doesn't seem right to leave them out of another poll. Who's their rival?

I'm not real sure who they would say, but there have been some good games between them and the Carrollton schools and Richardson Schools but certainly McKinney High stands out. They've been playing Plano since '96 I think and 2 seasons later they joined the Plano City Conference and have been joined at the hip every since.

I voted for the fun of it, but my choices were totally meaningless. I picked for the following reasons...
Pearland -because I dated a girl in college who was from Pearland
Katy - because I used to ride from Houston to Katy when I was a biker
The Woodlands - because I had friends who lived there
Permian - because my high school team played them once (lost big time)
Lufkin - because my wife has relatives there

Wylie...:D
Why is it that when someone/something deems us a rival, it's always against a team we have not beat?
IE: 0-12 against HP
IE: 0-3 against Allen (last 3 years)...
Although, Wylie/Allen used to be rivals back in the 80s me thinks.
I would like to see we have a rivalry brewing with Hebron.
We've played them ever since they opened.

I voted for everything because Wylie was not included in anything. Thus I could feel no pain.

I guess through the years Farmersville and Rockwall would have been considered your rivals. And very likely if you guys go back down to 4A, Rockwall and Wylie will again be in the same district.

Recently, 4A teams that would be our rivals would be Richardson Pearce, Many say HP... but I don't - can't say a team that is 12-0 is really a rival. lol, West Mesquite....
If you go further back than 2001, then I would assume Rockwall would be on that list.

If so, that's one of the more one-sided rivalries around. The Eagles and 'Roos have played each other six times. The Eagles have won every meeting by an average score of 36.8-6.6. This includes the two shutouts in the early '80s and the '06 shutout.

Allen vs Plano
that's a good one but being that both are in our district I have to lean a little more for Allen. The tie breaker was that Plano fan with the neon sign or having to play in the Doublewide again sense we have Allen and Plano at home. But I will still have to put up with at stupid flashing sign. :D

Allen vs Plano
That was discussed in Rivalries Part II. Allen doesn't have a true rival. Plano's rival is East. Wylie has Hebron. I don't think West really has one either.

Now if Allen goes DII this year, we will have to wait and see...
Cedar Hill, SLC, and Allen could duke it out to see who plays Katy in San Antonio....
Anyway it works out they still go 1 and 1 vs. the Metroplex..

The KT Boys are great for sure. You need to come hang with some of the Carroll folks before the games, you'd fit in quite well my friend.

Umm. I would take it that would be TCA and Prestonwood mainly?
What about Frisco Legacy Christian, dio they draw many kids out of the Plano area?
Its funny with Hebron, they are literally less than 2 miles from two good size private schools in Prestonwood and CCA and another in TCA is pretty clsoe too. I don't recall them losing many kids to those schools.

Greenhill I can understand. Not that far away over in Farmers Branc/Addison. A very good school. Sports are not the best but like ESD their academics are among the very best. ESD seems like quite a drive for the folks from West Plano.

Except that was a public to public to public school transfer across state lines (Georgia to HP to Wylie). Whatever happened to him anyway? Last I heard- he left Nebraska for some reason.

What I meant was that HP told him he would not start, so he transferred out of there to go to Wylie. Same thing West's former QB is doing.
Witt got into trouble for teaching the other QBs misinformation in regards to playcalling.
