They should be now that they picked up that great transfer to play QB.
They will be very strong at Offensive side.

I got's nothing wrong with the Oiler's one bit. They are indeed one of the best programs in the area. If not for havign to go up against North Shore the last couple of years who know what they might have done. With realignment comign the rivalry if you want to call it as such could be ending then again I'm sure we'll meet at some point in the playoffs.

Besides Fozzy what will they have? They have a hard time with schools that have about the same amount of students. Sure they can beat beat Ball,Brook ,Creek and Alvin. But PLand is DI and you know where that takes them. If they can't get past NS the next two, then PLand is an also ran.

i just think NS has too much talent for pearland to compete with us..... pearland is a solid program however.

I think proctor is overrated.... he didnt even show up in the blowout NS had against dobie... It didnt look like he was even trying... or maybe he was really was?

Am I missing something here or is someone else confused. Last time I checked Sam Proctor was the QB for Dobie not Pearland. So did he transfer or something or again does someoen have their wires crossed?

ok heres the latest info.
Sam Proctor the gb from dobie enrolled at pearland this semster, already started hittin the weights seen it myself.
He may not of been a one man show but combined wit fozzy he will do good.
Mayb one of the best qb/rb combos in houston.

I see so he traded in the burnt orange and white for the maroon and white. Not saying he was a one man show at Dobie but he didn't have near the talent around him tha the will have at Pearland. He'll definitely bring to them something they haven't had lately that being a true dual threat quarterback.

this is a good question... speciale was good... made good decisions.. was smart.. and could run decently and throw.... to me.. proctor runs better..but i think speciale throws better...... so the intangibles are yet to be seen.... but... we will see soon enough.... i think they will be good.. pearland that is.... but dont think they will contend for the region..... i think they lost plenty of players... but the addition of proctor does help.... but not as much as they think.... the big question mark will be defense.... and good teams need a good defense... another big question mark..

agreed
Pearland will wreck shop in the weak 24-5A divison, biggest game is probably gonna be against Creek but i dont see the Wildcats competing to much with the Oilers. Once playoffs start I don't think Pearland is gonna go to far, they'll meet their end either against North Shore in the 1st round or if the playoff system changes with the realignment, somewhere down the line to a state contendor.

before you get to excited about Pearland not making it well their JV was undfeated last year and they have some great players moving up from that team also they have at least 6 freshman from the undefeated team that will be playing varsity next year. so think dont look so bad especially when you have a top 100 rank player in nation playing QB next year.

Speaking of Clear Lake. It's looks like you boys had the drop off just like Ball did with the option. Ball ran it up until they met Katy in the dome. And then they had a drop off for two yrs. Lanier will have to have more athletes to make that thing work. As for Creek being a contender.. well maybe so only if the get some defense. But usually with so much hype about Warden and his son, Creek will most likely try to put up big numbers on offense and let the defense falter , just like Baytown Lee.

When you look at the rest of 24-5A, its hard to not give Creek a playoff spot, especially when there is gonna be 4 spots now. I don't think the cats are gonna beat Pearland but I do think they'll pull something together on defense (and pretty much the same offense returns) and get the 2nd spot in 24-5A.
As for Lake, your right about the athelete thing, but it also takes experince. We had some atheletes last year and we went 2-8. The team is gonna lose all the big name guys but the other players that surroudned them last year will now have a year of experince. Lake has a good team, they were never out of game they just always had some dumb fumble or interception when the least needed it. Lake led 24-5A in offense but they also led the Houston area in turnovers. The team was gaining confiendence and momentum against Galveston Ball (which was a very good team, and didnt deserve all that garbage) which should carry into next year. I think Lake will pull off some victories, and i think its gonna be a toss up between them and Alvin to see who gets that 4th playoff spot.

Hey thanx for reminding me about 5-A sending 4 teams to the playoffs. There's rumor and I stress only a rumor that Creek might be getting JJ Mullins from LaMarque.

lake will be good next year there gona be solid on the offensive side of the ball and defense secondary and linebackers will be excelent but one thing im worried about is the qb situation there 2 qbs that will fight for the job i think last years qb jon gilmer will start again the kid is bulking up and i think they will be realy powerful then people expect

Not a false rumor, its confirmed that JJ Mullins from Lamarque is now in school at Clear Creek. Also heard Erwin has signed off on the transfer already. He was on the track at Creek this week. Heard some conjecture that he runs in the 47 to 48 range in the 400 which translates into good speed. So chaulk up an experienced tail back at Creek to add to Warden, Brooks and Echols all returning. Foz and Proctor against Creek should be fun to watch, could turn into a shoot out. Since the Defensive Coordinator that was originally from the Clear Lake team that made its run to Semi's will have a year getting his defense together this time, couldn't help but improve.
Yah, the Lanier system at Clear Lake has run its course in my opinion. Trying to use a passing QB in this system is not optimum by any standard.

The option hasnt run its course were just at the @ss end of the cycle clear lake teams tend to go through. We were terrible this year, we'll be middle of the road next season a district contendor in 2 seasons, and a top houston program in 3 seasons. Our freshman team wrecked shop this year and we have this one back who will continue Lake's tradition of great backs. I do agree with the passing qb in an option system thing you said. Aduddel was trying to add another dimension to our already potent offense, it just backfired miserably cuz our qb was hardly an option qb.
