He'll be back before any of the games that matter. No big deal in the long run.

Coppell by 14. No wins for HP in 5A this year.

Probably right. Don't know if HP would have won that game with the QB either though.

win state in 4A then talk

I'm doubting that. In fact I wouldn't be suprised if HP wins by 14.

Actually Jake Howeth is a very, very good QB. He is 1 year younger, but Randy Allen produces very good QB's for his offense.
I still see HP winning this game, regardless of who the QB is.

I actually agree with you on that. I heard about it at the spring game and never mentioned it. Not sure why they would pick on HP again. There's another QB in the area (north of Allen and south of Sherman somewhere) that is in more legal trouble than this guy, yet no story has surfaced on him... hrm. :ninja:
Sorry, I didnt see this thread, I just posted it. My question is, should this be "Public News"? Is this something you keep In house, the kid is a minor, in High School, not like he's the QB of a major university, but then again , Chris Parr was all over the paper for robbery. Is there a line? and when do you cross it?

No line crossed. It was a crime blog. Other small towns will put a minor's name in that section of the paper for stuff like possessing drugs and stuff. And he's 18.
He'll only miss the Red Oak game. They don't need him in that one. He'll play against Coppell. HP will beat Coppell.
Do I think it's a harsh enough punishment? I'm not sure. I'd have to know more of the facts, but I'd lean more towards suspending for more games than scrimmages.

Yea, it happened May 3rd, but DMN decided it was a slow day and posted it again due to the court date happening next Wednesday.
School punishment not severe enough but will wait to hear about the legal punishment/outcome.

I think the bigger issue is that someone in HP was drinking Keystone. They still make that crap? I wouldn't even touch it in college!

Drinking Keystone and cruising in an "alternate" lifestyle area (Oaklawn).
Hope he gets it together....whatever he's going through.

Checking out the "other side". Just kidding, hate to see a young person being bashed in the media for a mustake. Dont matter if he is from paradise... or South Oak Cliff.

Paradise had a pretty good run until the playoffs last year, but I still don't think there QB would get the media attention of HP.

I know you were being facetious but you can get to Highland Park by going down Oaklawn Ave.....now, if he was going through Cedar Springs then I would wonder. :D

I agree! We all make mistakes! The key to making mistakes, is how well you learn from them.

I don't think ANY lawyer representing a HP player is going to let a lot happen.

Both the McKinney Boyd QB and Highland Park QB are very old news. Read about it another site in mid May.

Yep its pretty old stuff. Kids are kids and they will learn from their mistakes or we all hope they will, most do and I think those 2 will be no different.

If mine did something like that, a suspension wouldn't be half of what they got at home!

Correct. It was though discussed on some other boards. He has transfered, so I'm not sure where it went from there.

Yes the news of the transfer was on another board, which is really all that needs to be known on that since he's still a minor.
