Former Lewisville coach Ronnie Gage has accepted the head coaching posistion at Austin College in Sherman. Gage was serving as AD of the LISD this school year and now will be back into the coaching ranks. Rumor around Lewisville this year was that Coach Gage was not done with coaching and now this proves to be true.
I think AC is getting a great coach and a even better man to lead their program. I wish Coach Gage nothing but the best in this endeavor.

Will he be using that same style of offense at Austin College. It always was fun to watch. In 2002 Lewisville had great athletes and ran the offense really well, except that as I remember they had a bad case of fumblitis.

He has been a wishbone/option coach his whole life. He was our RB coach from 81-83 and our OC from 84-86 before he went to Justin Northwest where he ran the bone. He ran it at LHS from 1991-2004. I would think he would run something similar to it. As far as our 2002 tema is concerned you are right. We had as good of athletes on the field as anyone in the state, its just we had some headcases. We did have a bad problem holding onto the football that year. In week 2 against PESH we put the ball on the ground 10 times. Against Coppell we were going in for the winning TD in OT, our QB fumbled the ball out of the endzone for a touchback and we lose the game by 3. That loss kept us out of the playoffs. I think we lost somewhere around 25 fumbles that year  .
If coach Gage runs that offense at AC he will find a way to have success using it. The man is to good a coach not to be.
