Marcus Vick arrested after saying he'll go pro!



Two days after declaring his intention to enter the NFL draft, Marcus Vick was arrested on Monday and charged with three counts of brandishing a firearm, the Suffolk, Va., police department said in a statement.


Vick, 21, turned himself in after police in Suffolk, Va., issued a warrant for his arrest, saying Vick pointed a weapon at a teenage male and two others in the parking lot at a McDonalds on Sunday night, the statement said.

The junior quarterback had been kicked off the team at Virginia Tech on Friday for his moves on and off the field, including an incident in the Jan. 2 Toyota Gator Bowl, when he was caught on tape stomping on the left calf of Louisville All-American defensive end Elvis Dumervil after a tackle.

Vick was suspended from school in 2004 because of several legal problems, and came under intense scrutiny this week after replays of his actions against Dumervil. Vick claimed it was accidental, but hurt his cause by claiming to have apologized to Dumervil, the NCAA sacks leader. Dumervil said he received no such apology.

The last straw came Friday, even as Beamer was preparing to offer Vick the option of accepting a two-game suspension or deciding to leave Virginia Tech.

A fax sent to Steger's office disclosed that Vick had been stopped for driving 38 mph in a 25 mph zone and driving with a revoked or suspended license on Dec. 17. Vick had told Beamer about the ticket for driving on a suspended license on Dec. 19, Beamer said, but had never mentioned to anyone that he'd also been caught speeding.

Vick's license had been taken away in August 2004 when he was cited for reckless driving and marijuana possession, but had been reinstated until a friend driving a car owned by Vick was pulled over and found to not have insurance, Beamer said.

In 24 career games, Vick threw for 2,868 yards, 19 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He also ran 184 times for 492 yards and six TDs.

A $10,000 bond was set for Vick.

Alright, here’s the deal. I have explained this a couple of times already…but I will try it again. Hell even Lonny has tried to explain it a time or two.


I joke around a lot on this message board. I stir things up and try to bring out the lighter side of most discussions. Not because I am a clown…or lack any real insight into the world of sports. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth.

I do/say the things I say…because this place is loaded with mental midgets. The likes of which I would have an extremely hard time having a conversation with otherwise. So what do I do? I yank their chain a little bit…try to get ‘em going…try to light a fire under them…Most of the people on here know that…and have grown quite accustomed to me doing just that. Even the people on here that hate me…will tell you…I have always done this…and usually mean no harm by it.

But if you would take the time and really pay attention…you would see that I am only that way with a few people on here. I am almost always serious and respectful when I have conversations with Pack0808,the KT’s,FarmerFan,dragonsdaddy,drgnbkr,dada4w,bleedgr een,Lonny,GoOwls,jtk…and a few others…why???? Because I respect them. I know that the wealth of their sports knowledge doesn’t come from something that happened 15 years ago…They know their sh.t….therefore…I have sensible conversations with them.

I joke around a lot on this message board. I stir things up and try to bring out the lighter side of most discussions. Not because I am a clown…or lack any real insight into the world of sports. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth.

I do/say the things I say…because this place is loaded with mental midgets. The likes of which I would have an extremely hard time having a conversation with otherwise. So what do I do? I yank their chain a little bit…try to get ‘em going…try to light a fire under them…Most of the people on here know that…and have grown quite accustomed to me doing just that. Even the people on here that hate me…will tell you…I have always done this…and usually mean no harm by it.

But if you would take the time and really pay attention…you would see that I am only that way with a few people on here. I am almost always serious and respectful when I have conversations with Pack0808,the KT’s,FarmerFan,dragonsdaddy,drgnbkr,dada4w,bleedgr een,Lonny,GoOwls,jtk…and a few others…why???? Because I respect them. I know that the wealth of their sports knowledge doesn’t come from something that happened 15 years ago…They know their sh.t….therefore…I have sensible conversations with them.

On the other hand…you have a virtual nation of know-it-all kids on here…that in reality know as much about sports as my minivan does…Yet they refuse to shut up.

I had a long drawn out argument with GoOwls about a year ago. I got real nasty with him…and things started getting personal. Well, since then…the two of us have had a chance to talk. We PM each other back and forth all the time. And to tell you the truth…I still feel like crap for the way I talked to him. I ended up learning quite a bit from the old fella…But I had to shut my mouth first….and that was the hard part. But he has turned out to be a good friend.

Pickng the Hokies at the beginning of this season was not such a silly course of action. Others did so as well. Turns out that Vick could not handle the pressures of a REALLY big game, even tough he did quite well against most teams including wvu and uva. Obviously the young man has real issues.

Fair weather fan? So Wide, a Fair Weather fan only supports his team when they're winning....correct? I joined 7-26-2005. That is a very long time before the season even started. And Washington, comming off another disappointing season (6-10) and two losses at the hands of Dallas. Yet, I still came on, proudly displaying who my favorite team was. So tell me, how does that make me a fair weather fan? That I chose to change my name to a name that I had been using on another board? To orient myself more with my high school (because everyone already knew I was a Redskin fan) and when I had finally decided on my name change, Washington came off it's 52-17 victory against the niners, and Reagan came off it's 35-14 whipping of it's rival. I have explained this reason many times, but it comes upon deaf ears....or, in this case, blind eyes.

We Virginia Tech fans have hardly disappeared; we're still here and still fans. Certainly there are too many of us xruising around on a 5A Texas high school web site talking about the Hokies. I have been here awhile, but don't talk about VT much here. Also, VT hardly "disappeared." As I recall, we ended the year 11-2 with a solid victory over a few pretty damn good teams. I do not belive that the Hokies could have beaten the Horns this season, but I would also point out that the Hokies ar 1-0 against Texas in football. Not all Hokie fans were "spewing" this season.

V Tech has been one of the best programs in the nation over the past several years but those 2 games tell me something about this year. Miami absolutely destroyed V Tech and Miami got absolutely destroyed by LSU. If they just lost by a couple of td's no big deal but those 2 games were ugly with a capital U. With all that being said VTech had a solid year, but they were far from the top 5.

Yeah i guess you are right but it is easy to do. Head to head is what really matters that is correct. I still do not think V Tech was a top 5 team. My top 5 are 1. Texas 2. USC 3. Ohio St 4. Penn St 5. ??? But i would say Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Miami, and Alabama were better then V Tech. I even like Wisconsin and Auburn's chances vs Tech. W Virginia deserves to be in the top 7. I think the Bears shocked everybody.
I picked them to finish last in their division. Just about every year...One team pops up...that nobody picked to do anything. This year was the Bears turn to pop up.
I will say this though.....Kyle Orton freakin' sucks bro.

yep orton is a smart qb..just sucks..hes slow as hell..and overthrows the damn ball.. PLUS he doesnt throw to Moose..moose came to chicago b/c of grossman..so with grossman back watch for moose to get some more catches

they didnt shock me though..i knew this defense would be good..that offense worried me..which it does every year, but they did ENOUGH to get it done thus far

Just shows you the difference from College to the NFL. Orton was a stud at Purdue and was always in the top 5 in passing in the nation there. He is absolutely brutal in the NFL. But i have seen other young qb's suck early and then turn out to be good. Happens a lot. Terry Bradshaw was God awful his first few years and he went on to win 4 Super Bowls. You can name a zillion like him. The NFL is a learining process and it takes some time to adjust to the speed. They either turn it around or they will end up being a Leaf.

But Texas did have a weak schedule. The only good teams they beat were Ohio State in the regular season. We all knew Texas Tech was overrated (a top 25 team but not where they were).

But Texas did have a weak schedule. The only good teams they beat were Ohio State in the regular season. We all knew Texas Tech was overrated (a top 25 team but not where they were).

The difference? strong and strongest. Tech did not have the strongest schedule, but I do believe they had a strong schedule, and if they went undefeated, then they should've deserved a title shot.

Of course, those judgements apply both ways, VT did play a strong schedule and most of those folks judging such things concluded that the hokies did play a stronger schedule. That being said, Texas certainly had a far better offense than the hokies possessed and would likely have beaten VT had the two actually met.

Tx Tech finished top #25
Oklahoma finished top #25
USC was #2

I think Texas beat some pretty quality teams throughout the season.
