Bowie Dawg reminded me that HP has not lost a home game since 1998. Can anyone else even come close to the that?

At the 4a level? Not sure - but probly.

At the premiere level - I think NS is close to that.

When you play scrubs at home, that happens.

I think that Longview's winning streak at home is more impressive considering they've beaten the likes of #2 nationally ranked Evangel, #9 nationally ranked John Curtis, #35 nationally ranked Evangel (a different time), eventual state champions Tyler Lee (2004), rivals and always dangerous Lufkin twice, and many opponents from other districts who made it to the playoffs and went far.

How is HP's resume looking?

I can't talk about a 5A team, but I do know that 2A Pilot Point went a full 10 years (10 years to the week - last loss to begin the streak and first loss to end it were both against Celina) without a home or district loss. During that time span, they went 117-10-7. They lost a total of 2 regular season games during those 10 years. All other losses were in the play-offs. G.A. Moore and Jerry Jones were the 2 head coaches during that time period.

Of interest, when the streak started G.A. Moore the head coach at Pilot Point had just lost to Jerry Jones' Celina team. Ten years later G.A. was the coach at Celina and he came in and defeated Jerry Jones who by this time had become the head coach at Pilot Point.

I thought that was interesting. :ninja:

Celina's dated back from 98 I believe when they lost to Sanger in wk 3 until last year when they lost to Daingerfield in week 3.

I think it was Whitehouse in week 5. They did lose to Daingerfield in week 3, but it was at Daingerfield.

It was Daingerfield, Celina has to come behind the Piney Woods curtain this year...

Well I know all of thier games with Bishop Lynch were at HP. Do they have Red Oak, Greenville, or Carrollton Turner at home this year? Those will be some tough games;)

Gilmer has a pretty nice home winning streak going. Not quite the level of HP's but about 6 or 7 year streak going! It will be put to the test this year doe. Kilgore is their HC game!

Put Highland Park in 13-4A or 16-4A and I don't think there home winning streak would last much longer.

You are walking on thin ice now, be careful.
You mean like replace Carrollton Smith, Carrollton Turner, Greenville, And Royce City, With Midway, Corsicana, Waxahachi and Ennis,,,, not a chance, never happen;)

Westlake had a run during the 90's until around 2001-02ish that was WAY more impressive than HP. The Chaps were undefeated for like 10 or 11 years in a row in the reg season-and they were not playing scrubs. They were also unblemshed in district for something like 12 seasons.

Thats true, I forgot about that incredible run by Westlake. The only thing similar to HP in that respect is the 1 title with all that winning, though Westlake went to a few more championship games than did the Scots.
