Better as in fashion style, music, glam, and how the U.S. Economy was doing back then.

Hands down insinuated it blew90's out of the water yet you proceed to say 90's were a close 2nd. Interesting... very interesting.

both had there own thing.
90's was more about any idea being something.
Music, movies, games everything. If you had an idea in the 80's you could bring it.
00's is just a cheap remix of 80's-90's

Met my wife.
had both kids.
started my career.
Cowboys won 3 SuperBowls...
The '90s were the best on a long term scale, but I'm also glad I grew up in the '80s.

entertainment speaking, the 80's freaking blew the 90's away whether it was TV, the big screen, or music.

70's
+1 for me personally... The '80's were darn good as well since I met my wife and we got married. The '90's brought our kids, so that would probably be the best overall..
From a pop culture perspective, the '80's were a hangover for the '70's and the '00's are a hangover for the '90's... It's just hard to find that many new and creative TV, music, films and so on...

Milli Vannilli

Preteen and teen years in the 80's and 20's in the 90's.
TV/movies-80's had some real crap, only great shows I can think of were Cosby/Cheers. For all the crappy movies there were some classics, Personal favorites, Gandhi/Amadeus, but you had Platoon/ET/Do The RIght Thing, and some great teen age movies, Breakfast Club/Ferris Bueller/St. Elmos Fire/Young Guns/Red Dawn/Fast Times.
90's-More crappy TV, and besides Seinfeld I struggle, ER I guess.I think overall less crappy popular movies-Pulp Fiction/Saving Private Ryan/Schindler's List/Malcom X/Forrest Gump/Braveheart/Titanic/Boyz in the Hood/Shawshnk, lighter type fare, Jurrasic Park/Goodwill HUnting/Babe
Music-80's early rap/crappy hair band/end of New Wave punk.
90's-grunge-rap turns to hip hop. Hard to not give it to the 90's in a run away.
Economy-The early 80's sucked, as did the end of the decade. Most of the 90's was a boom with the exception of the dot coms. Seems slight to moderate win for the 90's.
Sports-give me the 80's.

totally disagree on the music. even grunge was a product of the late 80's
even rap was good in the 80's
you totally ignored the country and hard rock music of the 80's as well.

Milli Vanilli had all their number one hits in 1989, got awarded the grammy in 1990, and shortly thereafter were exposed as frauds. 1990 was the last decade of the 80s (like 2000 was the last year of the millenium). They are a 1980's group.

should have used winky emoticon. was totally joking.
Without question I have to go with the 90's....Those were truly the best days of my life. I really grew up in the 80's, but the 90's saw me go to the Army, enter college, graduate college, married my wife of now almost 18 years, had my son, seen my favorite NFL team dominate, seen my favorite race car driver dominate, seen my favorite band 8 times, etc, etc... Just the true "best days of my life" occured in the 90's...and couple that with 2004 (when my daughter was born) and that sums up some of the greatest moments to date in my life, with 98% of them occuring in the 90's.

Grunge started in the late 80's but did not hit the mainstream until the early 90's. Nirvana was not signed until '90.
I agree witht the rap. GrandMasterFlash is a staple.
I ignored country music and hard rock because by and large I didn't linten to it nor like it.

Of the chices I took 90's. My children were born in 90 and 91 and they dominated the decade for us. The millinium Y2K anticipation was exciting. And we or I ended the decade with Peter Jennings reporting the non-event. I was converting to Country so I can't speak to the pop music scene.
A lot of good American punk. Dead Kennedy's/Suicidal Tendencies/Black Flag/etc. kind of forgot about those until I got in my car and listened to my ipod
