Anyone have a list of new schools scheduled for varsity football next realignment?
Off the top of my head I have

Keller Timber Creek
Trophy Club Byron Nelson
North Forney
Wylie East
Frisco Heritage (Lone Star I think opens but won't have varsity football til 2012)

I know Leander has two new HS's, Round Rock has one...any in San Antonio or Greater Houston?

Bastrop County will be opening Cedar Creek HS in 2010. I doubt they will have varsity sports though.

Summer Creek opens THIS Fall but won't have Varsity until Next Fall....

This is in the Humble/North Houston Area....

Their Colors are Maroon and Gold and their mascot is the Bulldogs...

WAKE - UP -- the supt can propose a new school , but the TAXPAYERS in Ft Bend have to vote FOR a bond to do so --- the tax payers can also demand that the supt be replaced --- so the issue is at YOUR feet -- if you dont like it -- do something about it

Round Rock ISD's fifth high school, Cedar Ridge, opens its door in 2010. First varsity squads won't compete until 2012.

Tomball will open their second high school. The name will be Memorial and the mascot will be the Wildcats with blue and silver as the school colors.

Tomball Memorial opens Fall 2011 which means they won't play varisty football until 2012

Burleson will have a second HS open for school year 2010-2011.It hasn't been decided yet if they'll start as freshman or freshman/sophomore.But they'll play a JV only schedule at first.It will be built to accommodate 2000 students.It'll have a 60 yd. indoor practice facility and a smaller JV stadium that will have room for expansion to I assume become the varsity game stadium instead of using the current BHS stadium for varsity games.It's going to be interesting to watch the first games between the two schools.No name or school colors yet for the new school.

If my memory is correct I believe when it was built in the mid 90s Burleson High cost $27 million.It was built to house 2500 students.That's not including the cost of the stadium or tennis courts that were built I believe 6 or 7 years later.The stadium alone was $7 million I think.It opened for the 2002 season.No telling how much it would cost now.We need someone to donate a few million so we can have an indoor practice field.

Some certainly are, and they are no doubt affected by sometimes over the top architectural design and engineering. A good construction management company can save districts millions though. We built Forney North for about 65 million and Wylie East was less than that and those are both very big and beautiful schools. I know when we built Rockwall-Heath high school (I was with a different company then), the first phase was around 60 million and now with the second phase, it is approaching 100 million....To me thats just a little to insane for a school. They get so out of control with the design/looks of it and could build a beautiful/functional school for way less. I've said for the last 5 years that schools are starting to look more and more like chuches with the cathedral cielings and multi angled roofs. And the technology budgets on these things are astronomical now. Just 4 or 5 years ago the tech budgets would be around 2 or 3 million and now they are pushing 15 million...almost more than the full electrical budget is and they are normally the highest budgets for new builds.
