I don't know the President of the Black Chamber of Commerce - but I like him!

Seriously - can you not see the elitism of this liberal senator from California?

I guess she hasn't got the message yet that all blacks don't think alike. They are individual people that can actually think for themselves. That should scare her.

is there anything at all in this world that is exclusive to the white race?
this is a legitimate question that I'd like to see some feedback on from members of this message board.

that's what I thought too while I was typing the post ... but seriously, it is a legitimate question that, soon enough, will evolve the conversation into reverse discrimination.

I don't have a real problem with the Black CofC - the support of black-owned businesses by an organization.
We have one in Lufkin which is - shockingly - 100% black. I believe Lufkin is probably 20% black, I could be off a little, yet, our primary CofC is probably not 0.5% black. Why that is - I don't know. But, for that reason, I don't think a Black CofC is a terrible thing.

I guess what I have always questioned is why any race that is interested in improving relations in our society seperates themselves from the rest of society by naming their organization after their race.
All the time I see organization like CofC's that allow every race creed or color and it's simply named the local CofC or whatever. The right down the street you see the Hispanic CofC or the Black CofC ... I don't understand that way of thinking. It's can be perceived as hypocritical to many especially the excluded races.
thoughts anyone ...

I see your point, but the AARP does not exclude anyone based on race creed or color. To me the AARP is the older crowd getting together in order to have their opinions heard and to protect what little benefit they have left. Hopefully they will experience some success so that the rest of us will have some benefits when we reach retirement age.

not fooled at all ... and there is no "could be" to it. I agree they are one of the most ifluential political groups that exist. I perceive them as being mostly conservative though.
I could be wrong. Anyone care to educate me on the views of the AARP?

If you look at there political leanings, AARP is way liberal...they were wildly supportive of obama, and most of the far left wing causes...I won't join because of their politics.

How do you get .5% of a black person? Was that person half white or another race/ethnic group?
From another poster that mentioned 'reverse discrimination'. I don't believe in it. There is only 'discrimination' period.

If the CoC was comprised of 200 people, one person would be .5%.
