Ike will always have talent. As well as Humble. Just a matter of which coaching staff can put it all together. My guess would be Humble.

I know Humble's weakness is on the O-line and at Linebacker..
What are Ike's weakness's?
Their offense only returns 1 starter from last year....I would say inexperience on the offense as a whole is a weakness. That and they are really going to be inexperienced in the secondary.
CB Allen Veaize is a future star, but he alone can't hold down that Secondary against some of your heavy passing teams...Which Humble will be.
I am thinking Ike is going to focus on a run-oriented spread option attack, much like we saw from them a couple years ago when they were struggling. They don't have the height at WR they have had in the past, and teams like Humble and Atascocita are going to be heavily tooled in the secondary.
So to restate it all.
Ike- Offensive inexperience across the board, and a inexperienced secondary.
Otherwise Ike's defense is going to be stout.

Speaking of a Weak Offense... Who's going to start at QB?
I hear the JV QB is showing up Green and Allen?...
And What will be the lineup at WR?

Both QB's will be productive...if Humble is wealthy at any position this year its WR and QB.
Frontrunner Jacobe Greene (5'11 175lbs) is lethal on the short to mid yardage passes...and has developed some real chemistry with big WR Tubbs and Maxwell....
QB Javelle Allen (6'2 185lbs) is a pure passes with a strong arm, he has a little difficulty placing deep balls (fades in specific).
QB Kyle Washington (6'3 170lbs) is a unique player...He is built for the position, but is really thin for his size...duriblity would be my major concern. Ability wise he is behind Allen, ahead of Greene....just by a smudge... all three are really close.
My bet is that Greene see's the majority of the playing time, but could be replaced by Allen (who is a Divison 1 caliber prospect) if stuggles to produce points.
In all honesty....i don't see how any of these QB's struggle that much...These are some of the best WR i have seen come through humble in a LONG time....It likes Ike situation last year, but with a more capable group of QB's....

Washington is a good QB (JV QB), but he is a little light...he may very well come in and take the job...But Allen and Green are going to be hard to beat out...both are really talented players....Their is a Freshman coming in who is suppose to be pretty good, but he will more then likely start out on JV and work his way up as a Skill player (Great athlete).
WR lineup.
1. Darius Tubbs
2. Xavier Maxwell
3. Freddie Fox
4. Daryl Smith/Darius Lynch
5. Timothy Stringfellow (you will probably see him come in on some plays because of his raw physical ability to make guys miss...but i am willing to bet he stays at CB)
Their are other guys that could step up, we are defiantly loaded at WR.

Id like to see that JV QB play...He is really good. I had the pleasure of watching him at a couple of JV games after work (when at home of course)...he makes good decisions, but he didn't have a whole lot of help at WR last year...either on the JV white team, or on varsity...he was pretty much fending for his life....

Taking them based on what?
They return 5 starters....They have to revamp that whole offense....and they are built to stop the run, and maybe get by on the pass.
Just knowing that, i give Humble the edge....and Atascocita a fair chance at beating them....both teams are talented enough to neutralize the athleticism Ike puts on the field.
Like i said, Ike is going to have a stout running defense with DT Guy and LB Herbert anchoring the front 7....They are built to beat the rest of the district, but their greatest opponent is not going take it to them up the gut like they traditionally do...

a lot of that had to do with the fact that he was a freshman thrown into a really bad situation....That offensive line last year was decent when Baker was at the helm, but if he got out with injury...you could see the air leave them, and they were worse then bad. He through for a good 130 that night, but so did green. Both showed they have the ability to play at that level....Allen future is brighter only because he has more time...he was to worry about Washington, who could pass him...depend on which one is working harder as we speak.
I would like to see Washington put on 10-15lbs...needs to go on the Colt McCoy diet.....

My bad... thought we were talking about who takes the district. Not who wins out of Ike vs Humble. Based on what I see from Ike in past years athletes keep coming in. Coaching is holding them back. It's possible for Humble to take district with a experienced team this season. But like i said, I wont predict a clear winner until i see both teams in action.

It's tough to say....They aren't losing as many kids as they thought to Summer Creek (which opens in the fall)...
If they do, Humble is going to be in tip top shape to do some major damage in Region III 4a...I wouldn't be surprised if a Longview-Humble State Championship happened...Depending on Longviews numbers...
Humble has been competing with 4a numbers in participation since the splits, and has done very well...Just need to find a way to get that talent in the hall ways to come out and play football.

Atascocita is going to lose about 1000 kids(3600), but Humble is sitting at around 2400 right now, expected to loses between 150-250 kids...
The area is growing though, so it will be for a 2-4 year visit to 4a before they started heading back to 5a. The area is slated to have a lot of new developments....The economy is what slowed it down... They were talking a 7th high school for a while....
With the new neighborhoods humble will have to increase its school cap of 2600 to 3200...which is in the next bond to be passed in a couple years....a new wing will be added to the school to make space for growth.

I never said it would be easy, their are some really good 4a teams out there....But i still like Humble over everyone else...
It won't be a cake walk, but Humble certainly will have the skill and poise to make a serious challenge for the state championship...the 2011 class is loaded talent wise....especially on defense

No they aren't...
You have to have a eye for talent in order to spot future stars.
They have a good solid group of LB's, they aren't huge but they play assignment football. Michael Evins is a player to watch, he is a little shorter then you'd like at LB....But Humble has generally fielded smaller LB's with the exception of Charles Hinez (2004-2007. 6'3 220lbs)...Also look for Mark Armstead at DE or LB...
We actually look pretty good at WR. Not anywhere near the talent this year, but its solid.
WR Chaz Davis (Brother of Daunte Davis)- he is a player i have been hearing about since he was in 7th grade....he will be a Soph. next season, and may be on varsity if his speed improves.
WR Brandon Walker- He is a player and fits the SE position very well...he may also be on Varsity this year.
WR/RB- Darius Lynch- He is probably the best pure athlete in the class now that D Young is at Katy. He is a hell of a football player, and has really developed...i didn't see him coming, he really filled out and his speed really came in. As a Fish he was third fiddle to DYoung and Auntre Williams...but now he looks like a potential Division 1 star if the coaching staff uses him right.
We wont be tall, but we will be lethal.
I usually start paying attention to these guys their sophomore years ( i attend the JV games)...so we will see what 2012 has in store...i hear it is a great class of pure athletes.

Whether you want to admit or not ATRASHcocita is coming along... the right preparation in the film room and production offensively will thrust them at the top of the district standings.... Atascocita is weak at LB, and Corner.... They haven't seen production out of any of these positions since their inception...

That was just the pattern last season...Inconstancy. We beat Cy-Ridge, and those at the game would agree with the following statement....they didn't look like they belonged on the same field as Humble did... So a game to game look at a team isn't a real good way of determining future production.
Nimitz needs to get out of that flexbone, which they won't....Their new coach is running a offensive scheme similar to Kingwood....To many athletes on the field to not use them....
Yeah i heard we got a few new move ins....Ross has been here since the beginning of the spring semester...not sure about the new guys...heard it from a booster club member.
