Does this years national championship win make UT a dynasty yet? They have won 19 games in a row, or do they need to win more games and another national championship.

Dynasty is thrown arond too easlily. t.u. will have a hard time doing this well again next season (As does any team), especially if vy leaves.

another national champ within the next 1-2 years and a consistent top 15-10 finish for the next 5-10 years, will solidify them as a dynasty..
dynasty is thrown around wayyyyyyy to much..i look at a dynasty to be about 10 years roughly thats just my thoughts though, i guess the 'term' dynasty changes with the times

yes Texas needs to start winning conference titles more often and make the bcs series every year. and win or play in at least 3 title game in 10 years.

Actually the Horns are the "2005" National Champions since the title game was for the 2005 season just finished. But, they may well be the "2006" Champs!!;)

At a minimum, the term "Dynasty" applies to teams winning 3 championships within a 4 year period,(NE Patriots) and even better, 4 championships in a 5 year period, (Pittsburgh Steelers). I never heard the term dynasty applied to the USC Trojans this past year. They would have had to win this years championship before a dynasty could even be considered, but I don't know if being a co-champion 2 seasons ago would apply toward a dynasty.

Actually, "dynasty" applies to any group that maintains and sustains power and superiority for an extended period of time... In sports we often only consider championships, but I would argue that the Dallas Cowboys were a dynasty through most of the Tom Landry era and the Texas Longhorns have been a dynasty since Mack Brown took over...

if Texas takes over where OU was at then yes we're a dynasty on the rise

Next year, Florida will be Top 5. No Doubt. They will be a contender.
