I posted about him last year. He graduated from Katy in 2001. He was a backup linebacker. Last year he developed Leukemia. You might remember my posts.

He lost his battle with the disease yesterday afternoon.

Please keep his family and his young wife in your prayers.

You were a good man, Matt.

Giving All Honor and Praise to God the Father. I thank HIM for his Grace. I thank HIM for his Mercy. I thank HIM for sending Jesus, the Perfect, into the world.

Every time I hear about a athlete passing away from cancer it makes me think that every year there should be a weekend full of football and donations to beat cancer.

He is my latest idea.

At the new Jerry World.

Friday night, the 5A Div 1 and 2 state champions from the year before play.
Saturday, Either SMU vs. TCU or TTU vs UT
Sunday, Cowboys vs Texas.

It can be called the "Battle on and Off the Field."

All proceeds go to cancer research.

we just found out at my work place that an associate of mine just lost his 5 year old son to leukemia as well...as someone who has a mother that survived someone, and a new father as well, this tragedy, and this man's hit me hard...ill pray for his family

Oh wow had no idea, just sent him a request on facebook a week ago. He was a kind and caring person when I played with him in high school. Always had a smile on his face, great all around guy. Prayers go out to his family.
