Who were the unsung MVP's last night? Here's two:

Carter - No. 2 - forgot his first name - had 3-4 huge catches including a sweet crossing pattern on the final drive that took it to the 15

And... My unsung hero though is David Thomas - te - he had a huge game - 10 catches for a bunch of yards including two incredible 3rd down catches. On one he dove an extra two yards for the first. And the big one was his diving 3rd down catch in the 4th qtr. where he somehow hung on to the ball after slipping and diving.

Brian Carter... Senior from The Woodlands HS... He was Chance Mock's WR his junior year... it is a shame that he did not get that much playing time during his career.

Limas Sweed came up with big catches also. I also liked how freshman Roy Miller subbed in late to give our DTs a breather and stuff LenDale White for a one yard loss.

Miller, Lokey and a few others - Okam (may be a starter) had great dline games. The D was pretty exhausted from mid- 3rd qtr. on - so those guys stepped up and made some plays.

i think Matt Nordgren did an awesome job holding on extra points

The kid that wipes the balls down should also be recognized.

Who brought ole Mack that cup of Gatorade in the 3rd Quarter?

The $hi- shoveler behind BEVO deserves something for keeping the UT heifers( AKA cheerleaders) fed

I gotta give KT2000 props because he said before the game that Drew Kelson would be a key player in this game and he was right. Kelson saw a lot of playing time and I think his speed at LB was one of the reasons Reggie Bush was pretty much kept in check. Kelson also should have had an INT which shows his speed and versatility because he was running step for step with a WR. Keslon also forced a fumble in the game.

I'm with you there Fav. Number 16 had an incredible night. He never drops passes and is the epitome of the proverbial clutch, go to guy. I was very impressed with him. The defense also. Intercepted Linehart twice, sacked him and stuffed them when they had to. I think UT would have had greater command from the start when they shut USC down on the first series
but then there was the punt fumble and that gave new life to them.

how about the entire Texas offensive line. Vince had 40 pass attempts and not a single sack

The entire O Line - and I believe that includes Cypress Falls grad, Will Allen, #72...I saw him on several occasions out there. Surely he'll be in the NFL next year.

Not a lot of people will talk about the defense because USC rolled to 28 straight points in the second half. But they had 4 huge stops in the first half and the biggest stop with two minutes to go. I was so proud of them, especially after the injuries on the Garrett pass. That seemed to add insult to injury, but they stepped up bigtime on that last drive.

And as everyones mentioned, the hogs up front. Vince doesn't get those yards by himself.

Former North Mesquite Stallions Tarrell Brown and Aaron Harris, of course. :)

Brown gets a huge vote from me. His broken arm was almost a total duplicate of Lufkin watching our qb go down in the exact same fashion. The bench got real quiet - but responded big time for Terrell - he left it literally all on the field.

Blalock returns for senior season
AUSTIN, Texas -- Junior OT Justin Blalock has announced his decision to return to Texas for his senior season. Blalock revealed his intentions on stage at the National Championship celebration Sunday night in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

"One of the big things was coming back and getting my degree," Blalock said. "My family feels very strongly about that. Also, I love being in Austin. I have a lot of good friends here, and I'm having the time of my life. It's a lot of fun, and I've talked to a lot of guys that are in the league, and they said they miss the camaraderie and the fun part of it, and it's just all business up there. I didn't feel like that was something I wanted right now."

Blalock, who was named third-team All-America following his junior year, returns to an offensive line that cleared the way for the Longhorns to lead the nation in scoring (50.2 ppg), rank second in rushing offense (274.9 ypg) and third in total offense (512.1 ypg) in 2005. The team set an NCAA record for points scored in a season with 652 and totaled a school record 6,657 yards in total offense.
