All "On top of piles of money with many beautiful women" reponses will be frowned upon.

Me: Window shut, blinds closed, drapes pulled. Door closed. TV, radio, computer and all other electronics turned off. Fan on medium but it is silent. Preferrably cool to ice cold temperatures but sometimes it doesn't matter. No lights must be visible while I'm in bed. 2 pillows, 1 sheet, 1 comforter.

My initial position to fall asleep is laying on my right side, holding the first pillow like a boom box on my shoulder. Second pillow behind that. Legs slightly bent so they don't hang off the bed. This has a 90% success rate. If I'm still awake after about 15 minutes I'll flop around until I find a comfortable position. And then I usually wake up in the morning with no pillows or sheets on the bed at all.

Oh, and always flip the pillow to the cold side right before I go to sleep.

And yes, the offseason is in full swing.

hahahaha that was a great description of your sleeping style. lmao.

i have to sleep with 2 pillows under my head at all time, no matter what. it doesn't usually matter what position i fall asleep in, it usually takes me a while to fall asleep (at least 30 minutes). some nights it'll take a couple of hours, which is very frustrating. oh and i'm a terrible sleep walker too. i **** shi!t up in my sleep, no lie. maybe that's why i'm tired all the time?

I sleep on the floor, without a pillow....naked. I prefer it that way, pillows make my neck hurt - and beds rub me the wrong way. Clothes are itchy.

I sleep on a bed of nails, with my fists clinched. Usually one eye open.

The problem with older people is they gotta get up in the middle of the night to piss. Depends on the kind of day/week you've had how quickly you can get back to sleep.

During the Olympics or Tennis, I pretty much give up the concept altogether. Ordinarily, I need the TV.

I have a very tough time sleeping. When I do I have constant neck and back pains when I wake up. I can't recall the last time I actually got a full 8 hours sleep. Its bad. Nothing works for me either

All I need is a good firm pillow. I lay on my left side, close my eyes and that's it until morning. Never have any trouble sleeping unless I eat a big meal right before bed.

I sleep well, and it pisses people off that know me.

I prefer a flat pillow and I sleep on my back, but I have fallen asleep standing up before.

When I hit the pillow, it can literally be 10 seconds, and I am out.
when it's time to sleep, it's time to freaking sleep, is what I say.

In boot camp, you lie in the rack right before "lights out," at the position of attention( sounds crazy, but it made sense then.) The drill instructor would always give some insightful wisdom or words of encouragement;) and the last command you heard for the day was," reeeeeeeee-lax"

I often awoke the next morning still at the position of attention, and no, it wasn't because I was that disciplined. It was simply from being that tired and sleeping so soundly.

I hope I never have sleep problems because I love to work hard and look forward to a good night's rest. 7 to 8 hours typically...

bkr and FF, go do a sleep study. I just completed one, I can't sleep either. sleep apnea is the diagnosis for me. Bad news is the solutions are not that easy.

Is it possible that you don't need a good full 8 hours of sleep to be productive, energetic..etc....?

Because I've been running on 5 hours of sleep the past three days and Ive work probably 18 hours in that span, and I feel perfectly fine. I wen't to sleep at 3am this morning and woke up at 8am and I'm as bouncy as can be.

I did that....I sleep on my stomach and don't snore much. They couldn't find any real reason. They said that the study is geared toward the typical sleep on your back, snore, and have irregular breathing syndrome...I don't show any of those things, just wake up and can't get back to sleep. I hate it!
