It's these stupid little horns the crowd has.

Question: When Altidore was fouled on that play that gave USA the free kick, why did Donovan kick it?
Does the team just choose who they want to kick it on a free kick?
( that would eliminate the Hack-a-shaq in basketball)

Yes. Anyone can take a free kick.
It wouldn't be good for basketball because the Cavs could have LeBron take every free throw.

Plenty of time but here's how it will go....
If it's tied at the end they will play 2 15 minute halves and if it's tied after that they will go into shootouts.
There is no more golden goal.

that guy looked like he wasn't even trying hard.
He and #11 on Brazil looked like they were just screwing around at the park kicking the ball around.
Seemed like Donovan was the only real threat to score by making his own shot for the USA.

Definitely not collapse...The US just learned how to play at this level and it really should help them from here on...huge disappointment, but you can't call losing 3-2 to Brazil a collapse IMO.

There was no choice in the matter. The US was definitely going to be back on its heels the second half with Brazil having to press. It was a question of whether or not we could manage it. We did not do so unfortunately, but it was a great effort.
The absolute worst thing we did was allow that quick goal in the second half. That put all the wind in Brazil's sails and we had to try and hold on for dear life from that point forward.
We should not have looked to counter so quickly in the second half because that just turned possession over back to Brazil and let them come at us in another wave. It would have been nice to possess the ball and be more patient when we did have the ball in order to break their momentum.
No team in the world can defend against what Brazil brought in the second half. We definitely could have managed the situation better, but we aren't used to playing with leads in big games. This is a learning experience. We need to take the attitude we played with into Azteca.

Agreed. So if the US pulled out the win against Brazil which win would have been bigger? Spain or Brazil?
