SGP - Malcolm Williams

Well a great many accolades going out to some very fine Texas High School football players. As an SGP follower I am very pleased to see Malcolm Williams selected by 5atexasfootball.com as all purpose MVP DB/RB/WR/KR player. He is a fine young man and should do well playing on Saturdays for Texas A&M. His coach believes he is the finest athlete he had coached in 21 years. All I can say is I was fortunate to see him play.

He was also named Defensive Player of the year by the Associated Press.

I also see that Brian Ellis made third team defense. He should enjoy playing for UT in Austin.

SGP was one the most talented teams that I saw all year. Great size and speed. If they had a coach they would be dominant. I'm always baffled by SGP's play calling in the games. Untill they get a decent coach they will always be round 2 rejects. Before you get to upset with me on this one, I live in Grand Prairie and attend many of their games each year. My wife attended SGP and so they are my team to root for in the Metro-Plex.

Not upset at all. They had some really talented folks this year. I think the recognition that Malcolm is getting is that much more a tribute to him. If he keeps his head on straight and avoids injuries he could do very well at the college level. He needs to stop doing those backward flips. The team relied too much on emotions. It would be nice to see a real program start at SGP.

Malcolm is without a doubt one of the best players i've seen in 20 years of following high school football. His highlight reel backs it up...
