Yep... If you can include Ennis, How about Denison?

You're right.....DMN includes Denison, Forney, Waco Midway....WF Rider in their area coverage among others.

Hmmm....Forney is as close in or closer in than Denton or Mckinney, but Waco and WF is a real reach!

I'm just using the districts showing from HS Gametime as "area".....http://www.hsgametime.com/dfw/schoolinfo.htm?propertyId=1&schoolId=0&infoType=areaStandings&infoType=areaStandings&areaGroupId=184&sportId=3
Really don't know if they use these districts for the compilations....

Yep.. I know that an East Texas site uses the Mesquite schools and DeSoto when ranking, because they are in with The Tyler schools

They cover 9-4A, but they don't include Denison/Sherman in the area rankings, leaders, etc.

WF is in the district with Denton, so I'm guessing that's why they'd be included in DMN coverage.
I'd say Ennis before Kimball.

That logic fails because I wrote a letter a couple of years ago to DMN questioning why Tyler schools and Longview (when 5A) were not included in Area when their district opponents, Mesquite schools, were. Came back with a bogus explanation of 200 and some odd schools in Metroplex and readership thereof. Every since then, I have ignored DMN area polls all together.

Hmmm...that's odd. I would say maybe it's because WF isn't a part of any other region or large metroplex, but neither is Tyler. I know the Austin paper covers Copperas Cove, but Austin doesn't have anywhere near as many schools to cover as the DMN.

We are in with the McKinney and Frisco schools and I was told the same thing. Basically, "we can't cover everybody". Well, they could cover everybody that is in a DFW district.

Sure it does if that team takes district by playing and beating the team with the winningest program in Texas. They are the sherriff until you take their badge.

Heath had their glory last year. They lost way too many players in key positions to be considered for much. Look for Pearce to have a better year in 10-4A.

I will agree with a very good coach, but not quite as good as Smith (Rockwall) or Allen (HP).
As far as talent, they don't have the key skilled players like that had last year. It will be very hard to replace a QB, 2 RB, 2 LB, and include several OLine and DLine. If you really look at last year's roster, you will see they were very Senior heavy.

Irokwe will be the RB....quite a few OL coming back. Their younger kids were pretty good too. I will agree with a very good coach, but not quite as good as Smith (Rockwall) or Allen (HP).

i like your list, if dunbar finds a qb, they will be dangerous...

No worries though my friend...Denison will be a top 5 ranked team in the state. They have to have the mentality that its state title or bust with what they have returning this season. I'm looking forward to a special season from the D-Town Stingers!

I would have to agree with this.... then probably Rockwall, Rockwall-Heath and Royse City fighting for the last 2 playoff spots..

That's the ONLY question mark with the Wildcats! Kinda reminds me of the 2001 team before the season started. They had everything coming back except for the QB. DJ Davis stepped in, and they beat a great Stephenville team in the first round that year.
But, now that I think about, Dunbar ran the ball most of the time that year.

Only if someone knocks off Denton Guyer in regular season who starts off as DMN area pre-season #1.
But, who really cares!

Richardson Pearce is going to be a team to watch. They will roast every team that they play with a mediocre to average defense.

they did, and i remember that game very well, they shoulda beat stephenville last year, who knows how far they would have gone if they won that one,
that first game at abilene will be a good measuring stick, if they can compete
with them, i think they have a chance at going a few rounds deep in the playoffs this season..

Poteet???? I think they went 2-8 last season. West Mesquite will be good because they return one of the best QBs in the area. Poteet should suck though.

Yeah, the 'Cats imploded in the last 4 minutes against Stephenville, and blew a 14 point lead.
I'm really interested in seeing how this year's Dunbar/Abilene game turns out.
