Fowler and Beano Cook are the only national analysts I've heard that says Texas wins against USC tonight. I'd say it's probably 99-2 at this point. Even the beat writers from the Dallas MNews, Houston and SanAntonio papers say UT loses - wow - nobody gives the Horns a chance.
I've never heard such a unanimous voice in a big time game - USC beats Texas - write it down and bury the Horns - they have no chance.
And we wonder why Vince & Co. are sick of hearing it.

did you see Mack Brown's Rose Bowl press coneference yesterday? He thanked the media because they did not make him deliver a single speech over the last 32 days

I saw Andre' Reed on "Cold Pizza" yesterday...and he stated at one point..."Mack Brown struggles with winning the big game"...at that point the irony alarm on my TV started buzzing and whirling around...sparks flying everywhere...
Andre' Reed calling someone out for not winning the big game????????
THE Andre' Reed....as in Andre' Reed of the 4 time NON-Super Bowl winning Buffalo Bills???
wow.......Hey Andre'.......you were one Leon Lett idiot move away from losing THE BIG GAME by 6 TD's.......Shut up!!

If you break this match-up down based on team production (minus individual hype), Texas has a clear advantage going in.
Texas is ranked in the top five in 10 out of 14 NCAA categories. USC checks in with 4 of the 14 categories.
Texas has the #1 scoring offense in the country. USC #2. Texas has the #6 total defense. USC's not in the top 40. So far, the best teams USC has played are Oregon (lost to OU in Bowl game) and Notre Dame (gave up over 600 total yards and were lucky finish within 3 TDs of Ohio State).
None of this is meant to guarantee anything except to say it is completely ridiculous and just plain stupid to say Texas doesn't have a shot.
Finally, we get to put the ball down and do this.

Last nite Baby and I were bed watching the highlights from the Orange bowl and then they started talking about USC. A lot. Baby says, "what game are they in?" I say "Rose bowl. National championship" Baby: "Are they (usc) playing with themselves?" Me: Fall out of bed laffing. Baby: "Why is that funny?" Me: "Nevermind and no, they have to win a game against UT to be champs." Baby: "poor ********, UT is gonna f- them all up". Me: "Baby, I love you and so does Texas."

I am picking USC, but if t.u. wins, I will not be surprised. I really had a tough time picking the game and USC's winning pedigree just won out...sorry

However the kiss of death may have been layed upon Texas. Corso has also picked Texas to win.

That is bad - did he put on a Beavo head? On the other end - Mark May has predicted Leinart will rush for 190 yards.

LMAO on the May comment.
He did not but on a Bevo hat, however he was telling Kirk and Fowler that he expects Texas to win the game. On Cold Pizza Woddy Paige was all over Skip Bayless about Texas winning and both Jim Tressell and Troy Smith said during halftime of the Sugar Bowl that Texas was the best team they played all year and felt Texas would win the game.

Corso is loco. He's been riding the Bush-Leinart campaign as hard as anyone else, and he picks Texas? Looks like ESPN might be trying to save a little face at the last second if things don't go according to their month long tribute to SoCal.
Side note- Skip Bayless is from Oklahoma. Nuff said.

I hate Skip Bayless, I remember when he used to write for the Dallas Times Hearld and I believe he had a talk show on WBAP or KRLD. I am not a big Woody Paige fan either, I just watch Cold Pizza in the mornings cause sports center gets old after the 6am episode.
By the way if it means anything to you Texas fans, this afternoon Glen Ordway of Boston's WEEI 850 AM felt like Texas would win this game.

Yeah - I think folks are finally just getting sick of the USC is unbeatable nonsense. I'm nervous - hoping for a victory but USC is still very good despite all the worshipping they've received.

Rose Bowl: HOW THEY STACK UP
09:40 AM CST on Wednesday, January 4, 2006
QUARTERBACKS
For all the talk about Vince Young's running ability, most don't know that Young (2,769 yards, 26 TDs) ranks second nationally in passing efficiency. USC's Matt Leinart (3,450 yards, 27 TDs) ranks eighth and has thrown only seven interceptions. Edge: Texas
RUNNING BACKS
Jamaal Charles and Ramonce Taylor have been an effective 1-2 punch for Texas. USC Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush (1,658 yards, 15 TDs) and LenDale White (1,178 yards, 21 TDs) are proven performers. Edge: USC
RECEIVERS
Texas' Limas Sweed jumped into Texas lore by falling into the end zone with a 24-yard touchdown grab against Ohio State. Billy Pittman averages 23.2 yards per catch. The Trojans believe Dwayne Jarrett (15 TDs) can be great. Edge: USC
OFFENSIVE LINES
This is, without question, one of the best offensive lines in UT's history. Two-time All-American Jonathan Scott, Will Allen and Justin Blalock pave the way for an offense that averages 50.9 points per game. Edge: Texas
DEFENSIVE LINES
Two-time All-American Rod Wright of Texas has 14 tackles for losses and a 67-yard fumble return for a TD this season. USC is led by Lawrence Jackson (13 tackles for losses) and Frostee Rucker (6 ½ sacks). Edge: USC
LINEBACKERS
UT's Aaron Harris has 87 tackles, 12 for losses. Robert Killebrew has earned a reputation for big hits. USC's Oscar Lua has a team-leading 60 tackles but only a half sack. Edge: Texas
SECONDARIES
UT's Michael Griffin and Michael Huff have combined for three interceptions and five forced fumbles. USC's Darnell Bing has eight career interceptions, four this season. Edge: Texas
SPECIAL TEAMS
Texas kicker David Pino is accurate from long range, and punter Richmond McGee has dropped 10 balls inside the opponents' 20. USC's Reggie Bush makes people pay for missed tackles on returns. Kicker Mario Danelo hasn't made a field goal beyond 36 yards. Edge: USC
COACHING
Mack Brown should be praised for letting his players loosen up. Greg Davis set Vince Young free, and Gene Chizik has organized a fundamentally sound, hard-hitting defense. Pete Carroll lost offensive coordinator Norm Chow to the NFL, and most thought USC's offense would fall off. But the Trojans are scoring 50 points per game. Edge: USC
