Well today sure enough, a lot of people, including myself, were decked out in there UT attire. Of course, one kid (an aggy specifically) found it necessary to come to school all decked out in maroon and such. This just further epitomizes a&m's fixation with UT, and the fact they think we care so much about them. I just don't get it. We're in the Rose Bowl, our biggest game of the year, A&M are at home doing nothing, yet the kid still finds it necessary to do this. I know he has the right to wear whatever he wants, but again, I just don't understand the aggy fixation of having to spite UT in everything they do.
I suppose the kid made his point by annoying me.

Well, I could honestly say that I would have a hard time wearing an Aggie shirt at any time so maybe that is his way of showing "support" for UT:) I'm sure he would get hives wearing a burnt orange shirt;)
There will be a lot of people who are jealous, envious, whatever but, the bottom line is, if A&M or Tech or Baylor or any other Texas team were in the national championship, I might not wear their shirt but I would definitely be right there cheering for them. It's the NATIONAL Championship (and it CANNOT get here fast enough for me!!). I'll say it again, the last time they won it was on my 10th birthday!! Now THAT'S a dry spell.
HOOK EM HORNS!!!! GO GET EM VINCE! Oh and good luck to Cy Falls grad Will Allen (#72) too and Jersey Village grad Selvin Young!! And any other Cypress Fairbanks district players I missed.

Google "aggy" and "***** envy" that should answer all of your questions.

Cy-FallsMOM You ROCK! I am not wearing burnt orange today either. I don't own any. I'm wearing Red in fact, go figure, but tonight I will be wearing orange body paint. Not really, afraid it won't wash off. But, I will be wearing maroon. And yes I will be screaming for TU to win this game big. I would think that TU folks would be glad to have the support of the other Texas Schools and Big 12 schools.
So if that kid was wearing it to say "hey I am an Aggie who is supporting TU in this one" then great. If he is wearing it just to spite TU then he is a PUNK and has allot to learn.
Can't wait until 7:00.

First off.......T.he U.niversity doesn't need support from anyone that says "t.u."...besides what can aggy do to help...get up after 3 quarters and leave? Please exit the bandwagon and watch your step as you jump down.
Once again aggy trying to take credit for something they had nothing to do with.

First of all Wide - my calling it TU is an inside joke between my daughter and myself. She is causing allot of my money to go to that school system. LOL
Secondly - I just like football. And I pick a team in every matchup I watch. I am not a bandwagoner. I am not buying a ticket that a longhorn could have bought, I am not rushing out to buy t-shirts or decorate my car, nor am I taking away from anyone by watching that game or cheering for that team. You have no idea how many times I have pulled for Bevo and company. So no, you don't need anything from me, nor am I offering it. I'm just a Texas Lady supporting a Texas team. And doing it in the company of Longhorns who welcome me.
Just for the record - I have never gotten up during the third quarter and left any game.

Maybe it was just this kid trying to be "funny" and create a reaction. It worked.
I plan on going to A&M next year, but rooted and screamed for Texas to win last night.
Are all "Aggy" represented by this one kid trying to create a reaction? I left my "Saw em off" shirt hanging in my closet on purpose. Where the Longhorn's horns are sawed off... It was the only piece of orange i had. But instead, since I am an Aggie, i chose to leave it there?
-In now way trying to defend the kid, sure i agree, it's a complete *** of a move to do that... A&M didnt even sniff a bowl this year. But Don't Relate "Aggie" with your self-proclaimed "Aggy"

I'll tell you for sure, I'll pull for A&M before I pull for Bevo. Last night was more than just a UT thing though. It was a "Texas" thing so all of you Aggie haters (you know who you are) can just "git over it". Sure, we were proud for the state of Texas and UT happened to be representing our great state and that didn't come from me, that came from about everyone who was interviewed after the game, including your hero, Mack. So, if you think that UT has a lock on cheering, you're sadly mistaken.
By the way, if that same kid were to wear his maroon shirt today, would you still say he was dissing TU? One of the VP's of the company I work for wore his maroon yesterday because he heard "The University of Texas" was playing for a national championship. It sounds like nobody but the horns can pull for Texas. I was screaming my a$$ off last night like it was Judson playing. I never even noticed the color of the uniforms but I did see Texas mentioned a time or two.

Today, I wore my saw 'em off shirt. I am a diehard Aggie and call it what you will (I still onder why every sentence uttered by sips about the Ags involves "***** envy"). I wore my shirt because I root for the Aggies and anyone who plays t.u. Call me naive, call me an ***, call me an idiot. I really don't have a problem with many tea-sippers. It is the classless T-Shirt fans that make me want to puke on Austin (i.e. the person who ran across the field at the Alamo bowl, involving two teams that had no real connection to t.u.). You can call me out but I guess I'm just stubborn.
/edit
After re-reading this thread, I realized there was a lot of anti-Aggie sentiment here and that I will probably get flamed for wearing my shirt, but I just can't stand to see t.u. do better than us. Plus, the game cost me 5 bonus points in Algebra, which I don't really need, but still. t.u. had a really great year and if the nation decides to judge the state by their standard, I suppose it's good that they at least won. I hate the actauly people more than the football team, I mean there's not way around the fact that t.u. is great at football. I just wish the nation would not see their fans. In my opinion, A&M fans are less of jerks, but I suppose I'm wearing maroon sunglasses or whatever...bite me.
P.S. There was a whole 2 page thread started over it, so it was at least effective.

Miss Kitty - you rock too!! Bullrock, you as well! I am as burnt orange blooded, Bevo loving, ex-Jester resident as they come - I'm even going to Austin this weekend just to get pictures of the tower:rolleyes: Oh and to possibly stop by Stubbs for some beef but I digress. I think it's GREAT to hear of fans of other Texas schools cheering for Texas - I was so proud to see the Longhorns and Vince, especially, do what they did but I, too, felt that they were representing the entire great state of Texas...it was definitely a major upper for me! Like I said before, if it had been the Aggies, I would have been screaming pretty loud too. My adrenaline was flowing all night and most of the day today but I think I will be crashing very soon though:cool: 2 hours of sleep doesn't last for me.

Well answer me this: How can it be *THE* University of Texas if A&M was founded earlier, in 1876? Plus, you've got to remember, we do have ONE national championship. I'm not trying to take away from the longhorns' victory (I was actually pulling for them), I'm just saying that we're Texans too and we shouldn't be shunted aside when we have achievements of our own.
In layman's terms, we call it t.u. because we're saying it's another texas university (thus the nickname t.u.), not *THE* University of Texas.
