Talk about your tattoos.....

I have 9 so far.
I got them all at some point in my life where things were either really crazy or significantly changing for me.

I have a Phoenix in flames on my arm that was a cover-up that is my favorite one. I got it while out in Phoenix. I was getting over some issues while there and that was my reminder of the old me.

On my right arm I have a host of angels surrounding a small cross. In front of that cross are 2 people. 1 grieving and the other conforting the griever. A reminder for me that life does move on after having your dreams come smashing down around you in one determined moment.

The word "SLAVE" on one arm. That is a theory of mine that we all do most of the things we do for reasons we dont like to admit to.

A black panther on one arm. Because I love Lufkin football.

A little ditty with 2 moons and some background because it looked cool and was my first tattoo.
A skull with some tribal art around it that I refuse to get covered because it reminds me of what happens when you get really really drunk in Jasper Texas.

I have a pretty big cross on 1 arm that is there because I liked the artwork and I felt like seeing it would remind me that I need to not get too far away from God.
A little tribal semi-band on my arm. Got that to remind me of how I felt at a particular moment. I dont ever want to forget that feeling.

I have a large piece on my leg of a female vampire. We transferred the face of a close friend of mine on the picture and got'er dun. That one is for the unconditional friendship I have with someone I have never laid eyes on.

Wow, you have a lot. I only have one. I'm thinking about what I want for a 2nd one though :D

I like the panther for Lufkin. People would think I'm crazy if I got a STINGAREE someplace for my old Victoria HS ;) I might do it :D

My next few pieces:

Will have the Bacardi Bat on the back of my neck.

Will have Pinhead from the Hellraiser movie on my back.

Will have the words "Redneck on a mission" with Confederate battle flags in the back ground on my chest.

That's the only future ones I have planned for now. I will wait and get those when I am on vacation sometime though.

I was kidding about the Lufkin thing..haha... I do have a black panther on my arm though. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing so I had to get something. I use it to remind me that no matter what my X wife says, she is full of crap... we were there to get her inked and she chickened out. I knew the guy well and didnt want to not get something as he made the time out of his day and time is money for those guys. X has assured me for days that she was gonna get the ink. And then backed out. Made me look like a liar in front of one of my friends. I got the ink and paid him more than quoted. Went home and tossed her stuff outta my house... ok.. not really.. But I wanted to...:D

im about to get a angel (something like this http://www.papaboop.com/tattoos/minerva2.jpg ) on the back of my left arm, and something like this http://www.crazychameleon.net/tattoo-pictures/albums/userpics/10001/thumb_reaper_ve_3223.jpg but kinda transformed into a grim reapor on the back of my right arm.

That ought to turn out pretty kool. You can find some really good art on the web and most of the artists out there nowadays can do it right.

There was a fella in Shreveport that got something inked across his stomach and the artist mis-spelled it. I can't remember what the word was though. I wish I could recall what it was because it's even more funny knowing what the word was...Had I not been an alcoholic at the time I heard about this and saw it, I'm sure I could remember it...

I have four so far.....I plan on adding a few more....I got 3 of them between the ages of 17-19 while I was in the army....the were cool then, but I don't know about now. On My left shoulder.....if you ever saw the 12 pack box of Old English 800...there is a tiger on there.....that tiger is on my shoulder....on My right bicep...it used to say "Tammy"...but I had to cover it up, so while in Korea...I covered it up with the "Bull" from the Schlitz Malt Liquor Beer..can...everyone thought I was a Tarus...but I always tell them I'm a Libra....they ask what's the bull for...I tell them I used to be a lush. On my left chest...I'm not finished yet...is says "Soldier" written in Chinese.....on the right side of my chest....it's REALLY big....my first Tattoo.....was cool back in the day...now it's just silly...to cover it up would be one heck of a job.....My son LOVES it......it's a......Duck....that's right a grown *** man with a Duck on his Chest...I've seen the same duck on T-shirts at Walgreens now...he's a mean looking duck....has his hat on backwards....some baggy pants and a wife beater on....on the wife beater it says "DADA"..on one of his arms he has a bandaid on it and a fist full of money....in his other hand there is a gun.

I'm gonna get a few more....but they are gonna mean something...some of the things I'm thinking about is to have Dog tags tattooed around my neck and hanging to the center of my chest...on one tag it will have my sons name, nickname and month, day, and year he was born...and on the other tag...my daughter...

I've also thought about gettin Sergeant's stripes on my arms...not only for being in the Army...but before the army I earned my stripes in the "Hood"...I thought about getting the First Cav Patch on one arm and the 2nd Infantry division patch on the other one......And if I can find a way to keep it covered at work...I've always wanted the Tatt that George Clooney had in "From dusk 'till Dawn".....if you've seen the movie....you know what I'm talking about. I'll probably do the Dog Tags this weekend.

Oh Yeah....I've always thought about having HUGE angel wings on my back.

The dog tags is a good idea!

Tattoos should mean something to you. A female friend of mine just had something tattoo on her back. It's this heart shaped charm thing that her dad gave her before he passed away last month. She blew it up and had it placed on her lower back. It looks really good.

I'm thinking about what I want :D

I've always looked at the downside of tattoos. You always will meet a few people that frown upon them and many times you have to cover them up. There is some chance to get sick from them, and there's always the chance that you want one removed or changed because it doesn't fit your current life. Imagine dating a girl named Sara and then breaking up. You better find another girl named Sara!:D

The Air Force even came out with rules for tattoos about 6 years ago. They can't be any of the stuff that doesn't fit the Air Force image and they limit you to a size that doesn't take up more than a certain percentage of that body part. It always looks funny when I see guys in dress blue shirts with a tattoo showing through the bottom of the short-sleeve shirt!:D Those tattoos are supposed to be covered in uniform, too. I remember the old days when they didn't have the rules. I used to work with a guy who had "666" tattooed on an ear. He had tattoos all over his arms and neck.

Do like me.....go to the Tattoo place with a polo shirt on and tell them...."If I had this on at work...I don't want any tatts to show" Only a few people know I have them....you'd have to see me with my shirt off to know...It's a big uproar in Houston with the new police chief saying all Tattoo's must be covered....even bicycle cops....imagine cops on bikes with pants and long sleeves.....in this houston heat.

I can guarantee, I will not get a girls name put on me. :D

And IF I ever got one, it would be for me and covering it would not be a problem. As well, what I would get, would fit my image forever, or at least as long as I am a Texan, which will be forever. And at this point in my life, I have a pretty good idea of how long forever is. :)

I've met a lot of people that couldnt stand tattoos...Those are the people I make sure get an eyefull of mine. hahaha..

I have had people at churches ask me to cover them and take out my earrings before coming to church. I very politely asked them when God decided to have them make his rules to suit them. I got that blank stare people so often get when you don't agree with what they want.

I find it amusing when people get all closed minded about some inked up bodies and stuff. I used to put 16penny nails thru my ears to just to watch people freak out about it. If my job told me to cover my tattoos or remove my earrings to come to work, I think I'd just walk on and find another job. In saying that, it is a little different when you are having to work one on one with a customer. But even then, as long as it isn't gross or nude women type things, people should just get over themselves.

I still wanna see the pics.

At least you are not one of those people who displays his art and then when people are looking at it, asks, "what are you looking at?" That makes me nuts. If you are going to wear or have things that will bring attention yourself then don't get pissed when people look at you. LOL

You know...I say the same thing about women in clubs....when...I mean when I USED to be single and went to clubs...you see half-naked women...little tops on...that causes all the attention...then they have a look on their faces like "Leave me alone"....I tell them...next time stay your mad *** at home and don't come here looking all depressed trying to ruin my lovely evening....just had to get that off of my chest....what were we talking about...oh Tattoo's.....my bad

I'm so glad you and dada said that. Don't advertise something and wonder if somebody asks if it's for sale. That kind of stuff happens all the time.

redneckn, some in the church crowd will always look at the appearance in an effort to make and outward show of love for God. He wants hearts and not what you wear or if you have a tattoo. Now, it does look funny to see tattoos in church, but I know that what I see is not the true story of a person's heart.

I ended that decade in college and it doesn't seem like it was that long ago in many ways. Then I think back about all the fun I've had in the years since then. I wouldn't trade the last 15 years for anything in the world.

When I was working at Enron B.C. (before collapse) a older Korean War Vet was having a discussion about tatoos with some younger guys. He had a tatoo on his arm of a woman that was only half-colored in. He told everyone he wasn't drunk enough to have it finished. Well anyway, the two younger guys were commenting that they would never have any tatoos on their necks with Oriental writting. They said you wouldn't know if the tatoo said "I'm stupid" in Chinese. The old Vet's reply was, "That's what ALL tatoos say".

Got " USMC" in old english letters on left shoulder when I was 21.

That summer at my family reunion, I come out in a swimsuit to go skiing at the lake and I thought my mom was going to pass out.

i told her by next summer, I'd have a naked lady on the other. THAT was funny- never got another tattoo!:p
