It's 38-28 WVU with a few minutes left in the 4th quarter so i think they pull off the win. Consider this... WVU is VERY young. Their starting RB and QB are both freshmen. WVU returns all of their starting WRs and 3 starting linemen. It is very reasonable to think that WVU will be a preseason top 10, if not top 5 to start next season. Combine that with an absurdly weak Big East schedule and WVU has a VERY easy path to the NC game next year. Just something to think about.

Wow...WV impressed me greatly... they were a one loss team that was ranked outside the top ten... obviously not having any respect for being in the big east... agreed, they just might be a dark horse for next year... just imagine if they beat VaTech...

I was driving home from work and was shocked when they announced the 28-0 score. Glad to see Georgia made a great game of it, and almost pulled it out.

WVY future is looking bright with those two freshmen in the backfield. They both had a great season and bowl game, and will only get better with experience.

The question is though, can WVU keep Rodriguez? to me this guy will be able to pretty much take whatever job he desires. With the rumors around of some of the college coaches jumping to the NFL, there is no telling what schools could come after him.

He was saying this as he just got done telling us that he is a history tutor or something like that

West Virginia played a heck of a game, but the defensive coaching for Georgia was horrific. WVU just ran the ball all over Georgia, yet the dawgs continued to have 5 or 6 defensive backs, rarely putting more than 6 in the box. Yes, WVU could pass fairly well, but the run was clearly what won the game for them. I expected better from Richt and his staff.

Yes they did but they almost let that game get away after Geogia started their rally. But in the end West Virginia came away with a 38-35 win.

You will have to imagine it, as wvu will no longer play Virginia Tech after this past season. Looks like the Hokies keep the Black Diamond Trophy for a very long time. However, the eers do look like a very very good team next year.

He'll use WVA as a stepping stone to better things. He left Tulane after leading them to a 12-0 season with Shawn King before going to WVA. He's too competitive and ambitious to stay at the college level much longer...hey the Texans need a new coach.

As well as UGA played against LSU in the SEC Title game I gave WVA absolutely no chance. It looked like the UGA staff didn't even prepare for WVA's spread offense and like you said were way too concerned about the pass. The UGA players seemed to be out of position all night. I was amazed at the speed and toughness of their two backs and the Mountaineers definitely came to play.

UGA thought like everyone else in the country and that is they would just walk all over WVU. They were surprised by their speed and when they finally woke up it was too late. You are right they got burned by the run all night and still they were looking for the pass:rolleyes:

I disagree. Frank Beamer took over his alma mater, Virginia Tech, a relatively unsuccessful program that nobody knew about and turned them into a perennial pretender. Don't be surprised if he doesn’t go anywhere.

Nice one JT...but for as much pretending as Vtech has done they have more conference championships than UT and played for as many NC's as UT and beat UT head up in the Sugar Bowl all in the last Ten years of pretending:p The only banner hanging in Austin in that time period was 1 countem 1 conference title and the year UT won that is the year VTech beat that tale!!

You want to re-type that and try and make sense this time? Texas had one conference championship when they played Virginia Tech in '95?!?! Yeah, they had one... that year. It was hanging next to the other 26 conference championship banners they had won up to that point. Even over the last ten years, The University of Texas has won 5 conference championships and played for 2 others. Virginia Tech has won just 5 conference titles in it's entire history... 4 of those coming under Beamer... all in the last 10 years.

JTK you better re-type that...from 1995 to 2005 UT had 1 conference title another this year. From 1995 to 2005 VTech has played for 1 NC. Texas will play for one this year. So over the last 10 years if Vtech has been pretending then so has Texas. Now if you want to go pre-Beamer then no contest UT hands down, but since that point then what are you saying???
The one title UT has one in the last 10 years 1995... they lost to Vtech in the Sugar Bowl!!!

For all your hype I only see one title...1969

Then how do you explain the Big XII Championship won in 1996 over heavily favored Nebraska?

lets see UT couldn't beat Oklahoma when they needed to to win those conference championships so like I said for the past 10 years the records are EVEN. If UT loses to USC guess what they are still even Mr. Fox...so try again

So for the past 10 years since UT has only won 1 title they must have been an overhyped team as well:rolleyes:
