:notworthyJust picked up the new mag and to my wonder it wasn't really as good as I hoped it would be. The college section is good but the HS section really sucks. This site has way info than that waste of money. Keep it up guys!!:notworthy

Well, if people were buying full-page color spreads in the HS section, they'd be able to spend more resources on the HS section. The college section is what drives sales.
The HS section was that brought in the bucks when TAMU was good (not great) and UT was underachieving. It's about demand.

How about the complete and total neglect they do to HS section.
major questions i have?
1. The Madison QB...is he really 6'0 275lbs running a 4.5? I don't think that is accurate...then again VY did come from Madison.
2. Ike and Atascocita over Humble? Why? and Ike's Qb jones a Shepard lite? i went to that spring game and failed to see it.....(showed up in the 2nd quarter after leaving Katy's in the 4th)
3. Lamar over Chavez? why?

BUT, they also gave Chavez a shot because they have Lamar at "Home" this year.
Bwhahahaha.
Its cause they get to where their home uni's....

That is like giving Kingwood the edge because they have Humble at home....

Lamar must be sitting on the "un-shaded" side of Butler stadium this year...lol
Sucks...those 7:30 kick offs are tough...especially when you are on the "un-shaded" side...;)

lol at anybody that thinks ESPN Rise actually covers TX HS football. all they do is cover the private travel "schools" that will be on tv for them and maybe 5 of the top 5A schools.
they had some team on their basketball coverage last year that was just a bunch of guys staying at some AAU coach's house taking online classes. yeah, that's high school.:rolleyes:

Never bothered me in life and barely noticed until I moved to Texas.........that's something no one ever discusses as a difference here.
By my third game It was the first thing on my mind.....lol

Like everyone else said, the college section is always better than anything else in the mag. I got my first issue in a while last season because of the coverage on Tech...I may just finger through it if I come across it somewhere this year.

Actually, I personally saw him at the Dallas NIKE combine talking with athletes, not parents. He was also at my son's school watching them practice, I assume he visits other high schools as well. If you visit his website, there are probably 50 colleges that use him as a recruiting source. His reputation and business are at stake, so I don't think he bases his selections on 'talking to parents'.

LOL man I was just being sarcastic ... you can't be that naive . But I have talked to ALOT of people with the consesus being that he's a bit off. You want a clearer picture of what's going on ... Texas 5A Football is a step ahead.

I just talked to him less than two hours ago. He was at Permian. He's pretty nice and He loves high school football. That good enough for me.

I am not sure why people complain about DCTF. Name another state that has a magazine in publication every year that lists information on the high schools. I don't think any do. Also the information that goes to the magazine comes directly from the forms that are sent to and filled out by the coaches. By the way spring practice usually ends in mid to late May and the magazine goes to print in early June. I think DCTF does a great job. I don't always agree with the predictions, but I buy the magazine yearly and refer back to it all the time.

It's a big world out there..........many states have websites and magazines dedicated to the kids. Pretty good ones too. Ultimate Athelete Magazine......covers LI, NY high school sports.I am not sure why people complain about DCTF. In the magazine, he had Denison over Angleton in 4A Div II, but on the website, he has Angleton in Div I and Denison over Shertz Clemens in Div II.
There are always a few things wrong and some wacky predictions, but I look forward to it every year. There is nowhere else to go to get info on every team in Texas.
