View Full Version : More Mainstream Media Double Standards

I find it ironic..... a man, who rants against Republicans, Democrats, Capitalists, and Communists alike..... is called a 'Right Wing Extremist' after he goes into the Holocaust Museum in a maniacal act of terror. Never mind that on the board of directors of the Holocaust Museum sits prominent Right Wing Republicans like Dennis Prager....
Immediately, the mainstream media says that conservative talkers (Rush, Hannity, Savage, etc) are 'feeding' into the anger of Neo-Nazis and what they call 'Far Right Wing Extremists'. Since when is dissent the accepted catalyst for violent acts against minorities and Jews????
Of course, when a Muslim man shoots at a military recruiting station in Arkansas and kills a soldier, he is NEVER identified as a 'LEFT WING EXTREMIST' or, God forbid, a 'Terrorist'.
Within a week of this action, we see Jeremiah Wright's anti-Jewish rant barely get mention in the mainstream media.... and we have tape after tape of self proclaimed 'father figure' of the Messiah/President ranting against Jews and the state of Israel -- much like the nutcase that attacked the holocaust museum yesterday.
The media and the academic left has brainwashed Americans into associating Nazism and racism with the political 'Right'...... the ability to associate Right of Center figures with Nazis (despite the fallacy of the accusation) is a powerful tool for the political left to use. Of course, we rarely hear the truth that Nazi was an acronym for National Socialism ---- and it is hybrid of Communist and Nazi totalitarian socialism which the left is taking us directly towards.........
It's easy to find a Left Wing Extremist hate group ---- just go to your local ACORN, ACLU, or Moveon.org organized event. Too bad the mainstream media will not identify them as Left Wing Extremists..... nor will they call out the Bill Mahers, Maureen Dowds, or Keith Olbermans who incite their violent agenda....... but Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and Ann Coulter are worthy of being called 'Right Wing Extremists' or, at the least, accused of inciting violence.... ridiculous.
If Democrats love the Jewish people so much, perhaps they should explain why their Messiah in Chief is abandoning Israel and is increasingly ignorant to acts of hatred against Jews around the world which are increasing --- nearly all of these attacks outside of Israel are form Left Wing Extremists or their Muslim Extremist friends......
On the other hand, it is not hateful or spiteful to call Sarah Palin a **** or joke about her daughter being impregnated........ disgusting. We don't go after Malia or Sasha in that manner, nor would we support that..... and nor should the left wing extremist talk show hosts go after the Palins' children.

Is making deductions about double standards an indication that I am angry?
I am perfectly calm. :) I'm not depending on any government program to bail me out of anything... so why panic?
I'm too busy working to have time to listen to Rush's program... although the few times I hear it, he is ALWAYS right.

Thats his gig. He doesnt really even want to read your answer either, and probably has another question lined up.
why do you ask?
Because the post made little sense to me and I wondered what the facts were that you saw?
The fact that a Republican that sits on the board doesn't mean that the shooter wasn't a stated White Supremacist.
V4E states he doesn't have time to listen to Rush but has heard the "main stream media" immediately blame this shooting on Rush/Hannity/Levin/etc. Is there a link? I have not seen one iota of that.
"Within a week of this action"...the shooting happened 24 hours before this post and he is bringing up Jeremiah Wright's rant, which was covered by CNN/ABC/etc. Do you know what the rant was? Wright claimed "them Jews" kept him from seeing Obama. Still have zero idea about the relevance of the shooting and that statment, correction, rant from someone Obama separated himself from a year ago.
Then the post is at a crossroads. V4E is asserting Obama is anti-Jew, although his chief of staff served in the Israeli army and disparaging the media(wrongly so) for not reporting that Wright caims it's the Jews keeping the President from him.
V4E is too busy to listen to Rush, but does have the time to listen to Olbermann/Mahers/Dowd and hears the violence they incite.
etc. etc. etc

I am astonished at the spin and backpedaling by the "righties" out there. Sorry, but the D.C. shooter was not a left wing liberal, no matter how much Jonah Goldberg says so. People who post about Obama's birth certificate on the interwebs and hate immigrants and other brown people aren't liberals.
LMAO at ACORN, Moveon.org, and the ACLU as a "left wing extremist hate groups" with a "violent agenda." I'd like to see the death toll of ACORN and ACLU contributors and members, and Moveon.org interweb posters. I guess when the ACLU files a lawsuit it is the moral equivalent of shooting people at a museum or blowing up federal buildings in Oklahoma City. We should poll the victims of ACLU "violence" and ask if they think their lawsuit was the same thing as getting shot.
Saying that the DC shooter can't be right wing because there is a right wing politician on the board of directors of the Holocaust Museum is like saying the 9/11 hijackers weren't really Muslim because there were people in the WTC that were Muslims (which is true).
Simply too stoopid for words.

why do you care if America is slipping down the slope of intellectual laziness, allowing the high standards of education and commitment to science that GOT us to the top of the world degrade into a sort of sh*t-covered shouting match reminiscent of the Dark Ages?
Why do you care if in today's culture it is acceptable to be ignorant? Why do you care if political candidates are attacked for being "too smart"? Why do you care if increasing portions of the population reject learned, scientific thought in favor of easy reassurances from religion?

Not really. There can be anti-government leftists and rightists. They aren't anarchists. They don't like the government as it functions now. I hear a lot of anti-government talk from both right and left. If Mark Levin's show isn't an anti-U.S. government program, I don't know what is.

Like I've stated before, religion depends upon faith, while science derives its support from facts- which, in certain aspects, they lack.

A meaningless distinction. In a representative system, there is only the government that has been duly elected. The DC shooter would have no problems with a make-believe U.S. government that represented his ideology, just like Mark Levin has no problems with a make belive government that represents his ideology. They are both rabidly anti-current government, which is the only one there is.

I get that you're okay being an ignorant, deluded idiot for all your life, but the rest of the world has moved past the dark ages and is sitting over there laughing at us putting "intelligent" design in classrooms.
But seriously, "intelligent" design? Who the hell would design a system that makes us breathe and eat from the same hole, GUARANTEEING that people will choke to death?

facts, bad. blind faith, good?
I get that you're okay being an ignorant, deluded idiot for all your life, but the rest of the world has moved past the dark ages and is sitting over there laughing at us putting "intelligent" design in classrooms.
But seriously, "intelligent" design? Who the hell would design a system that makes us breathe and eat from the same hole, GUARANTEEING that people will choke to death?
If a god did design our bodies, he's the shittiest engineer EVER.
I never said facts were bad. Maybe if you weren't so arrogant and dogmatic, you'd understand exactly what I was saying. Your blind adulation of science has brought you to conclusions that the very facts you depend on would contradict. You cannot prove that the world was not made from a supreme being, and likewise cannot prove your scientific assertions either (concerning life and creation). Now, I do not claim that I can physically prove my beliefs either, only that that is what I choose to believe. If that makes a deluded idiot in your book, than lets hope that nobody ever gets a chance to read it.
God made us after his own image, and seeing as he cannot die...
...and calling me a ignorant and deluded idiot only shows me and others just how insecure in your beliefs you actually are.

Not really. There can be anti-government leftists and rightists. They aren't anarchists. They don't like the government as it functions now. I hear a lot of anti-government talk from both right and left. If Mark Levin's show isn't an anti-U.S. government program, I don't know what is.
You are an idiot if you really believe that --- I have NEVER heard Levin call for the downfall of the U.S. government. I have heard him call on voters to hold the corrupt politicians on both sides of the aisle accountable -- especially the co-engineers of Obama's depression --- Chris Dodd and Barney Frank.
Levin believes in the rule of law, and follows the law even when it goes against his principles. But that does not mean he can not call an outrage and outrage.
Since the leftists on this board seem to value smart people, you would be well informed to know that Levin is a Constitutional Lawyer by trade, and certainly knows what he is talking about.

Ummmm....that's exactly what I've been saying. All left wingers don't want to overthrow the government or kill people, but there are left wing nuts that do. Ditto for the opposite spectrum. Why would President Obama supporters want to overthrow the government? The bloated government, (and Obama's growing it ever more by the day), is the catalyst that allows them to infringe on every freedom we have from smoking a cigarette without a tax penalty to taxing the use of cell phones provided by your employer, to telling you when you can and can't get treatment for a medical problem. Of course, for some odd reason, the left does not want to protect the right to life for innocent children --- so strange....
In general I agree with your statement however.

Conor Friedersdorf at the American Scene transcribes the following exchange from Mark Levin's radio program yesterday afternoon:
CALLER: I just wanna say, Obama is a lot smarter than you folks give him credit for. You guys were on a roll, I have to admit, with all those tea parties. Everything was rolling along, the Republicans were gaining momentum. And he managed to change your entire conversational focus. And you let those three hundred thousand people —

CALLER. Yeah but you know he can just move those people over here anyway. He’s already doing it with the one guy.
LEVIN: Yeah, sure, he can do whatever he wants. Let me ask you a question. Why do you hate this country?
CALLER: No, I love this country.
LEVIN: (angrily shouting) I SAID WHY DO YOU HATE MY COUNTRY?WHY DO YOU HATE MY CONSTITUTION? WHY DO YOU HATE MY DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE? You just said it. He can blow off Congress. He can do whatever he wants, right?
CALLER: Well, he seems to, he just moved (inaudible).
LEVIN: Answer me this, are you a married woman? Yes or no?
CALLER: Yes.

And Nazis are inherently right-wing.
As a generic concept, National Socialism opposes capitalism, communism, international socialism and liberalism. The movement in Germany sprang from fears over the Bolshevik Revolution, a socialist uprising.
Allow me to quote from the Encyclopedia Britannica:
National Socialism attempted to reconcile conservative, nationalist ideology with a socially radical doctrine.
The Nazis were anti-liberalism and anti-international socialism. When they were naming the party, in fact, Karl Harrer (one of the founders of the precursor to the Nazi party) was violently opposed to including the word "socialist" to the party name, and the German Worker's Party was born.
Anyone claiming the Nazis were leftists is at best sadly misinformed and at worst delusional.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - A former chairman of the South Carolina Election Commission has apologized after his posting on Facebook suggested a gorilla that escaped form a Columbia zoo was an ancestor of first lady Michelle Obama.
Minutes after the gorilla’s escape was reported Friday, Rusty DePass posted: "I’m sure it’s just one of Michelle’s ancestors — probably harmless."
The comment has since been deleted, but DePass confirmed to WIS-TV that he made it, apologizing and saying it was a joke about statements Obama has made about evolution.
DePass is a former chairman of the Richland County Republican Party. He didn’t respond to a phone message Saturday from The Associated Press.

No he explained he was talking about Bristol not Willow. You can continue to think Letterman is OK to joke about a 14 year old or teenage pregnancy. That is fine and your right. I will not. It said this man apologized for telling the Michelle Obama joke as he should have, I also think he should have been fired. Even though she puts herself out there as did Bristol. I find no humor in either. The only difference is I will not try to excuse a bad joke made by someone about someone I disagree politically with. You do.

When you brought up well McCain said this. Like that made it OK for Letterman to say what he did. That is how it came across. Two wrongs do not make it right.
If this guy did not really say the words I'm sorry or I apologize then he should really be fired. Letterman did not, he tried to justify it.
IMO there is no excuse and no apology (for Letterman at this point) that will make what they did OK in any book.

No, my point was that she is a public figure by choice. In my opinion, people do get dressed in cap and gown, and pose for a National magazine with their baby if they are not a public figure.
That does not mean I felt that the joke was in good taste nor appropriate. I also stated that it was not enough to get me too excited about it.
