So it looks like that Ohio State team that UT played is quite legit... and it appears that the media darling Notre Dame team is a fraud... hmm... interesting

What's impressed me the most about this game is the sponsorship/advertising.
It was mere seconds after halftime when i busted out the tostitos and salsa.
I wonder if watching the Orange Bowl tomorrow will make me want to ship some packages.

Who was the mental midget a while back that tried to tell me ND had a good defense? Half way through the 3rd quarter and Ohio State has over 400 yards of offense. Troy Smith is looking like a smaller version of Vince Young against that horrid ND defense. Smith has a 150 more total yards than the entire ND offense. What a joke.

This Texas team that went into the horseshoe and pulled a win should be in good hands this Wednesday... ND can't move the ball, it is amazing... this game was going to be a high scoring game or so claimed the ESPN "experts"... Go Horns!!

mighty OSU defense
Very good observation. ND averages over 38 points a game and OSU has held them to just 13 so far. That is damn mighty. I was so focused on how crappy the ND defense is that I have missed how incredible the OSU defense has been.

yep pretty incredible indeed!!! 27-13 now:eek: 38 pts per game down to 13....reminds me of Texas Tech averaging 42 but down to 10!!!

Ginn has incredible speed, but he is not a very good receiver which makes his performance against ND all the more embarassing if you are a ND fan.

Luckily for me Im not a fan of either of these teams...as a side note though for all the yards ND has given up and as bad as they have played the score is still only 27-20. One score game;)

Ginn was a DB in HS, however, he will improve into a premier WR with more time lined up out wide with Troy Smith throwing him the ball... his speed is just sick...

Is there another bowl game on ABC after this, or am I reading the guide wrong? It seems that ESPN and ABC have cornered the college bowls market.

I expected Ohio State to win because they are so bad on defense, but I never expected to see Troy Smith jump start his Heisman campaign against the Domers.
Notre Dame looks just like Texas Tech to me... outstanding offense that can be shut down by a good defense + a defense that is a liability.

I think the fact that the Big XII, in one of it's worst years, sends 8 teams to bowls compared to just 5 for the Pac 10 says all that needs to be said.

Of course ACC sends 8 and 6 win:D

Here are some stats for you stat man
ACC 5-2
Pac 10 3-1
Big 10 2-4
Big East 0-3
SEC 3-2
Big XII 4-3
3 games left with each conference having one representitive.

The Big XII and ACC will finish with the same records which will put them in a tie just ahead of the Pac 10 for whatever that award is the conferences get. Unless of course, Georgia wins and that would give the trophy to the SEC.

WVU is currently 14 - 0 up on Georgia. West Virginia is a lot better than I thought, and perhaps a very underrated team (and rightly so).

Well the Big10 ended up being 3-4 in the bowl games but could have easily been 6-1 or 7-0 but that is would of could of should of. The Big10 lost most of those 4 games in the final moments of the 4th quarter. They got those breaks in the last 2 years with great bowl records. Just how it goes. They did win the 3 biggest games they were in. Ohio st beat #6 ND BCS game, Wisconsin beat #9 Auburn, and Penn St. beat the ACC champs BCS game. In the four losses Michigan blew a 11 point 4th quarter lead to Nebraska, NW blew a 22 point lead to UCLA, Minnesota blew a 14 point lead and lost on a last second field goal to Virginia, and Iowa ( I do not want to talk about this one see the other thread) They lost 31-24. That is just the breaks of the game. They were competitive and had a chance to win in every game. The records are a little deceiving. Like the ACC for example, they had a winning record in bowls this year but 2 of their top 3 teams lost. One got embarrassed. The top 3 in the Big10 all won.

Damn, I'm good.
Congrats to the weak Big XII for sending 8 teams to bowl games, tying the ACC for BEST record of any conference in the bowls and bringing home a national championship. Maybe the Big XII can be this weak every year.;)

The Big 10 had a ok but not great year! they had 2 teams finish in the top 5. No other conference can say that. The Big 12 had the champ though. The Big 12 did start awful (besides UT of course). Several Big12 teams lost to average to poor comp in non conference games. They should have been questioned. But in the end, many of those same teams improved tremendously and they ended up being solid teams winning some good bowl games. AKA Nebraska AKA Oklahoma etc etc
