Is any of you think you will be satisfied for 2006 Football?
I am satisfied for our team with many starters for 2006. I think we will make the playoffs again next year since our playoff streak broke.

I think ACM is loaded for bear in 06.
Offense:
Gotta get some key O-Line positions filled, two starters (one 05 soph and one 05 jr) returning. O-Line coaches consistently face this issue each year and always end up with a group of guys that get the job done. There are several big strong 05 JV players that I suspect will do very well. This O-Line could be a force for two years.
I'm really interested to see how our 05 JV QBs progresses into Spring Training. We'll have two Sr's and a few Jr's competing for QB. I'm not writing off the returning two from this years team. Both started and both have the potential of being big time players. But, the prime JV guy from last year showed some remarkable progress in 05. He especially gained a lot of key practice time during the playoffs. Often, he ran the opposing teams scout offense better than the other team did when we played them.
RB's will have several great backs returning. We lost a thunder and lightning package (orozco and gay). But, we've got Palmer, McMurry and Jackson returning for senior seasons.
WR's will be very solid as well with returning starters (Lewis and company). There's also an 05 JV kid that has hands of glue. He's a bit on the short side, but he's really fast.
Defense:
Losing two great D-Tackles. One of this year's 05 Juniors is one of the strongest kids on the team. He'll do well. Then there are a couple of 05 Sophomores that are strong and quick. Linebackers, D Ends, and DB's look solid with a lot of starters returning.
Special Teams:
Symanski comes back for his Sr. season. 'nuff said.
Biggest question is what district we'll get the opportunity to compete in.

I guess I'll follow this up with Dragon analysis...not that everyone doesn't already know.
Offense:
Key Returners:
QB Riley Dodge
RB Tre Newton
As of right now it doesn't look good for the Dragon Offense. Although an explosive backfield returns in Dodge and Newton, as of right now there is no supporting cast. Coach Dodge is going to need to develop a slew of new WRs and 5 brand new o-line over the offseason. Definitely his toughest 'reloading' job yet at Carroll.
Defense:
Key Returners:
DE Kyle Dusso
DT Sam Stevenson
MLB Justin Padron
CB Arius Ford
CB Anthony Ford
The defense is also going to take quite a hit this offseason, losing such D1 talent as Agnew, Benoist, Simpson, and Boydston. Russo had a fantastic Jr. year and Sam Stevenson brings some experience back on the defense line. Padron also had an excellent year but is going to have to step up his performance even more, with the loss of his supporting cast Benoist and Reece. Look for Jr.s such as twins Tom and Eric Fleps, and Austin Schrum to fill these roles. The Dragons are set at the CB position returning the Ford twins, Arius (who missed the majority of the season with an injury) and Anthony (WR converted CB). Finding replacements at the FS and SS is going to be a task, but just another chore for Dodge and the coaching staff over the offseason.
Special Teams:
Special teams has always been the downfall for Carroll over the past couple years. Losing both Kevein Ortega and Ryan Murray means the search begins again for another kicker and punter. I have no doubts that Dodge will find someone to take care of this.
Overall:
It's going to be a very interesting season for SLC. This is definitely Dodge's biggest 'reloading' task since he arrived at Carroll. Assuming the district stays similar, look for the Dragons to easily gain a playoff berth, and perhaps go undefeated. Non-district opponents will determine whether the '06 dragons will go undefeated or not. And with the addition of a fourth playoff team, look for the Dragons to make playoffs, but where they go from there is questionable. A big indicator of how SLC will look will the 7 on 7 tournament, which will showcase the new WR corp for SLC. All I can say is...have faith in Dodge.

Judson will have some work to do, but they do have some key players coming back. QB Carl Bouldin, HB Jose Mendoza, and OL Chris Crockett on the offense and DB Rendez James, LB Isaiah Carter, and DB Roisean Haynes on the defense. A lot of players on the D-line and the O-line will need to step up, which I think will happen because the new playbook has settled in nicely now.
