Too bad the wind was slightly too strong. Kid still burned that track up at Austin with a 10.08. I dont care if there was a little wind as his back.
Texas UIL State Track Meet:
AUSTIN (June 6, 2009)--Killeen Ellison junior Prezel Hardy ran the fastest 100 meters ever by an American male high school athlete on Saturday. However, due to high wind readings, his national record will not count.
In the Class 5A 100 meter final, Hardy blistered the track in 10.08 seconds. Henry Neal of Greenville (Texas) held the previous state and national records with a time of 10.15 seconds from 1990.
The wind rating of 2.2 at the time of Hardy's race on Saturday is too high for any record to stand. Therefore, Neal's 1990 mark will remain as the national record.
