Well, well, well Redneck. Looks like that sorry Texas kid (that you said) is pretty salty after all (like I said) huh....
Heck, he (Matt Flynn) is probably the best QB on LSU team to be honest with you. He has poise and is a top notch athlete that can (pass & run) with pretty much the best of the them. I was surprised to hear Greise (annoucer) basically come out and say that Flynn is a better overall QB then J. Russell.. (ooppps) something that I also said.
So much for that sorry Texas kid (Matt Flynn) huh Redneck ???? Kids one of the best college QB's in the nation. Yes, I said the nation !! That Peach Bowl "MVP" looks good on him huh....:D
Also.. that other sorry Texas kid RB- Joseph Addia really looked good in a LSU uniform rushing for 130 yds and averaging like 6 yds a pop.
Heck.. they could of split the Peach Bowl (MVP) in half and given it both to Matt Flynn and Joseph Addia. Two sorry no good Texas kids huh Redneck.:D
Your anti Texas football attitude and always claiming that us Texans are arrogant when it comes to football and we arent as good as we think and blah blah blah. It has to totally kill you to see that basically the two MVP's for LSU are two Texas kids.

I dont think so. He's always making one sided comments about how us Texans are arrogant, and think our football is the best and blah blah. It all started with me when he claimed that Louisiana had 2A teams that could beat Austin Westlake and Leander and ever since then he has made a few other anti-Texas football comments on here.
I like seeing Matt Flynn and Joseph Addia doing "GREAT" also in LSU uniforms. I think we'll see a few other Texas kids kicking "A" for LSU soon.

Flynn and Addia were both extremely impressive in this game. Addia impressed me with his absolute strength, he busted the tackles and ran hard then entire game.

I wonder if Perrilloux (sp?) made the right choice in pulling out of his UT commit to attend LSU... I can see a QB controversy happening during spring drills between all three of them.

Frog. I was outta town and did not have access to a machine as I left my laptop here in Austin. I had to watch the "replay" of the game on ESPN and wanted to come here and say some kind words about the boy from Texas. I'm tickled to death that LSU won and Flynn was the QB. I've said before I don't like the chump they used all year.
So really I haven't lost anything. I was not at all surprised that Flynn is good. He's from EastTex.
I still think that too many people in Texas have over inflated egos where football is concerned. That's just the way it is. About the only people who don't think Texans have huge egos are Texans or they haven't ever talked football with a Texan.
No, it doesn't bother me at all that 2MVPs are from Texas. Good for them. I hope it helps them further their careers in football. They deserve it.
As for you. This was all pretty funny to start with and it's still pretty funny. You get so worked up dreaming this mythical "hate" that I have for Texas ball. I do think that sometimes you reach to far in your comments and stuff. That being said, if the chance ever arrives I do plan on slapping the taste outta your mouth. Not because I think I'm some kind of bad@$$, because I don't see myself as that at all, but because I get the feeling that your the type of guy that waits 'till the cops show up before you start jawing. You're the guy in the bar that gets into a little shoving match and when security shows up you start really pouring it on thick and trying to "go at" the other fella while security "holds you back". Me? I'm the guy that waits in the parking lot with a can full of gas and a hand full of matches.
I've generally tried to mend these little fences with you before. I will try once again. I don't hate Texas football. I don't think Texas ball sucks. I just happen to think that Texas ball isn't the best ball in the country and I think that most Texans have over-inflated egos.

I think I said 3A's and a coupla 1A's actually. I still think that. I don't always make those comments. Most of my posts lately haven't had much to do with football at all. So "always" is not the correct word to use there.
Arrogant Texans? You bet. I don't really think there is anything wrong with being arrogant. Personally, I find it more humorous than anything else. It reminds of me of Canadians. They are so proud to be Canadian and I am left standing there thinking: "Why are you proud of being Canadian?" I do the same thing when a Texan goes off about how Texas is better than anywhere else on earth. I've lived here since March and I still can't understand why everybody is so happy to be here. It's nice here, but not really anymore nice than anyplace else. But the money is better here than in Louisiana. Again, I thank Texas for paying better and helping make my wallet fat.

Flynn and Russell battled during last fall's preseason practices with Russell "beating out" Flynn and being announced as the starter the week of the first game. Flynn is the best overall QB on the LSU roster and proved it in the Peach Bowl. Russell is tall, has a rocket for an arm but isn't too bright nor overly athletic. The offensive game plan that Flynn executed for LSU is what fans wanted to see all year but we had to settle for mediocre because Russell couldn't take it all in. LSU had to run such a watered down version that our offense looked anemic all year thanks to Russell.
Coach Miles has already overcome his biggest hurdle with Perrilloux..finding a helmet big enough to fit his big head. Proclaiming that he was going to win the Heisman as a freshman before he even set foot on the LSU practice field was just stupid, and then he sat out the year as a redshirt. QB battle ought to be pretty intense in the fall. Rumor in Baton Rouge is that if Russell is again "appointed" starting QB that Flynn and Perrilloux might both transfer. Let's see, the last time that happened, Clausen lead the Vols to an overtime victory at Tiger Stadium...not bad for someone who "wasn't talented enough to play for the Tigers".

If you watched Casey Clausen for the whole year he didnt look talented enough to play for a pee-wee team. Russell started because he was better at the time. In his first year he went 11-2 throwing for 2400+ and 15 TD's. For all his supposed greatness FLYNN only threw for 196 yards against Miami. He needs more than one game to be proclaimed the "second coming".

I wouldnt blame them for leaving if Russell is back on gun next season. He is not a good QB. He might be good at a small school, but he is not good at a major college.
Anything to do with Perrilloux is blown outta proportion. He's good, but not all that like he thinks he is. I will say that he did carry his high school team a lot though. Without him, they have gone back to being another mediocre team in Louisiana.

Never said he was the second coming although he does remind me of Matt Mauch but with a better arm, only that he is a better all around QB than Russell and a whole lot smarter. I have never been sold on him for a variety of reasons and I think Matt Flynn was not given a fair shake this year.
Passing alone does not make a great QB and that is all that Russell can do. How many of those runs that Flynn made against Miami do you think Russell would have had the nerve (brains?) to make? The one time all year I saw Russell try it, it was a called play and he fell down after about 7 yards when he should have gotten 30. Everybody is in love with his arm strength and willing to forget that there is a lot more to being a QB than slinging the ball 70 yards downfield.

Let's see...200 yards per game x 13 games is 2600 and 15 TDs in 13 games is barely over 1 per. Damn, it looks like Flynn is every bit as good as Mr. Russell. Too bad we don't have all of the one hop, overthrows and just plain bad read statistics.
Russell should be moved to TE. He'll never play in the NFL as a QB.

He fits better in the pros than in college, he is definitely a pocket QB. Don't need to be real smart to hold a clipboard.

Time will tell...we know what Russell will give you, Flynn may be another Clausen in disguise...He was the real deal too remember:rolleyes:
