The eyes at the tournament said Katy, Manvel and Cinco all look stout. None of them had seen Dulles yet. Katy and Manvel with a lot of speed.

Dulles was able to out athlete Cinco in the semi, but could not match Katy's execution in the final.

#4, (I think he might be one of the young RB), but I think he was the one to blow past Dulles for 2 easy 45 yard 1 play drives. # 88 the TE worked well underneath. QB was very good at seeing the whole field and streching the D. Balls were thrown on time out of the breaks past pretty good coverage.
On defense, they played what looked like a 2-5, (2 underneath). Dulles was confused early after seeing primarily straight 2, a little 3 and man under 2 so far. Katy was a little vulnerable underneath on the edges and on the seams. They do a great job of forcing you to be patient, and Dulles was not in the first half. An early pick in the end zone got Katy the 2 score cushion at the half.'
I believe Katy was without Atwood and maybe a couple others due to baseball last night. Dulles sat out Sherroid Evans, as he prepared to run the 200 and 400 at State next weekend.
Thanks to the folks at Terry for a well run tournament. Coach Tekyl staff does a great job.

# 4 is Will Jeffery SR. the offensive MVP from the state game last year.
Yes Katy was missing Atwood, Im not sure about others.
Yes Katy usually plays a soft zone cover 4. They are going to make you drive the whole field by keeping every thing in front of them. They wait until you make a mistake or fail to execute.
How did the Katy receivers look, #23 greg morris the speed burner, was our deep threat. how did he look, was he getting behind the defense consistantly

Katy was without 6 first teamers on the defensive side of the ball out there today. I know there were two freshman that saw extensive time today.
Great tournament put on by the Terry staff.

Hah...you could say that. Greg pretty much had the deep ball anytime they wanted it. I remember at least 4 deep balls to him that went for TD's where he had about 5-10 yards of separation when he caught the ball. He also caught a ball out in the flat, stopped on a dime, turned it inside, and no one came close to getting a hand on him as he raced another 35 yards or so to the endzone.
Pretty much all of the WR's did some great things out there today. Manny and Ryan had some great catches, Swanson should not be allowed to play 7-on-7...the guy is a beast. Will Jeffery is one of the best pass catching RB's we've had in a long time and did a lot of good things. Brooks played a lot of WR and did very well. #83 had a great day I thought. Young Rowe did very well and has great size.

I'm thinking he won't be a surprise for long :)
There was a coach who was kinda getting on his DB for letting Morris past him for two deep TD's in the 1st half of one of the knockout games. I felt for the kid because it's pretty difficult to run stride for stride with a guy who has clocked a 10.5 (according to G-Mo himself) in the 100m as a sophomore.

It's actually Corbett, according to 2000. A junior-to-be DB.
Everyone was calling him the one-armed bandit as he had most of his arm in a cast.

Ok...I think I saw him on the sideline at the spring game. Did Robert Jackson play?

He played a majority of the snaps today. He looks like he's coming along and 7-on-7 will be great for the young guys like him. I really like how he breaks on the ball.

What kind of routes are they using to get him the ball in 7 on 7?

Pretty much every short to intermediate route you can think of in the middle of the field. When they get close to the goal line, he'll fade to the back pylon, dig to the front pylon, outs, sit in the middle, be tall and wait :), etc. He's pretty much an uncoverable target in touch football.

Noticed you been posting alittle more lately. I have the same problem so I had to down load a i-spell program. Then noticed there was a spell check in the upper right corner.
Haven't heard much out of the Cy people lately. Hope all is well.

Things are going ok for this poster for now. Finally got the little select baseball team I was coaching off to Gold Glove for the summer so my time is greatly freed up. I can get on with MY life now rather than twelve 14 year olds. I am officially retired from coaching for a second time now. They all start hs next year.:Music

Not much to talk about until FB season starts!! Unless, of course, we are in "they Yard" - a scary place that one.

He really only has to stand up, turn around and catch the ball. If the QB throws the ball 20' in the air #88 will be the only one to reach it.
