I am not getting my hopes up too much, but it was very apparent at our spring game the other night that we have some serious playmakers this year, with some returning QB experience...LOOK OUT :ninja:

PESH has always had good talent to work with. I think 08 is a rare exception to the norm of what we normally see out of PESH which is a 1-2 round playoff performance on a yearly basis. I look for all four of the Plano schools to make the playoffs this year ;):D

I suffered a CRANIAL DISCOMBOBULATION after reading Farmerfan's

I know that Plano SH has a Royal History.

As one who has suffered through the years
of absolutley NO RESPECT from the winning programs
of the day . . . .

I sincerely hope that PESH can suprise EVERYONE this
year and have a great season. I refuse to beat the poor
guys while they're down. A tough 8-5A from top to bottom
is good for ALL members of the district. Playing in a tough
district has proven very advantageous for preparing P.O.
teams.

Time will tell they are set up to be competitive. They are the largest single HS ISD in the state. I would be a bit disappointed if they didn't have a little success. Remember they got to make up for 70 years of pretty below average football. I guess as a farmer fan you got to root for someone outside LISD since no one over their will be sniffing to many title trophies in the coming years. especially the OLD school

Allen will be THE Collin county for years to come. They are going to be super good in 09 and have a deep talent pool in their underclassmen. PWF, I have a step-son that graduated from Plano, so I have some(slight) feeling for the Wildcats. I speak from an analytical HS football
perspective. Allen is going to be beast for a long time. After they play Trinity and Longview, we can revisit my prediction.

So what does that say for Plano?
The almighty Wildcat program.
Lets see here
Plano has a larger enrollment than Allen.
But in the last 14 years Allen has won district like 7 or 8 times, Plano has won it 1 time if memory serves me right.
Plano has been to 1 state semifinal while Allen has been to 4.
Plano has not won a state title while Allen has.
Plano has had an 0-10 season. Allen has not. All while Plano has a much larger enrollment to pull from.

Thank god Allen has started sometring up there in collin county or else the drug problem would still be the main headline when discussing the high schools there

No one in Allen claimed to be a part of Plano, although PISD does have one community in Allen. We just claim the Plano City Championship, having beat all three Plano schools 3 years straright (9-0).

So is Wylie going to beat Plano this year or let them off the hook again like '08?

7 on 7 is a better indicator of how strong Plano will be in the upcoming season. In recent history, the 2005, 2007, and 2008 teams did well in 7 on 7 and had great seasons in the fall. 2006 team performed poorly in 7 on 7, which translated into a poor performance in the fall. By design, it's almost impossible to tell anything about the upcoming season from spring/fall scrimmages at Plano

Plano East has a pretty salty pre-season schedule after going 1-9! Abilene and Skyline are very good football teams. I guess Ringo wanted to know sooner than later if the kids over there were serious about football. Good luck Panthers. :notworthy

Nothing wrong with some stiff competition in non-district, good gauge on the team going into a tuff district schedule.:)

I wish Wylie would swap out Rowlett and Arlington Seguin... maybe go for Allen in the predistrict - since there's a slight chance we may need to play y'all in the playoffs... so 2 previous battles in the season wouldn't be a bad thing. ;)

Just kidding... in all seriousness I'd rather see us play a team with a good zone blitzing scheme... so if we make it to Katy this year, we don't get suckered in and then sucker punched by the weak side zone blitz.

What a coincidence... I'm not sold on Plano, even though they won by 30. The reason for Plano's 30 point win was 2 players and a lack of a defensive back covering the deep middle.

Spring games are no indication of what the regular season will bring. There are srs who don't play, freshmen getting long looks, no game planning, yadda, yadda, yadda. All you can see is size and speed of what's there.

As for 7 on 7... no pads, no line, just *maybe* an indication of DB and WR ability. It's all different with pads on.
