The people who started college this fall across the nation were born
in 1987.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.

The CD was introduced the year they were born.

They have always had an answering machine

They have always had cable.

They cannot fathom not having a remote control

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.

They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.

They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or
"de plane Boss, de plane".

They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J. R. even is.

McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

OK, here's a short version of what I said. I had a 3.91 GPA in high school and was an honor grad in both high school and college. I appreciate the kind words below this post.

I was living in Ft. Lauderdale at the time and swam way out in the ocean right after seeing it. I loved swimming in the ocean and went out right away so that fear would never sink in. Sure had some thoughts that day though!

This was your original quote:

I told Mad_fan I was ready to fire back if you were talking about me, but you didn't catch that.

Since you are talking about me, I'll give you the Dragnet facts:

I graduated from high school with a 3.91 GPA on a 4 point scale and we didn't have bonus points where you could get above 4.

I graduated 7th in my class of 269 and probably would've been 3rd or 4th if I had gone to Mt. Pleasant for 4 years. If I had stayed at Pittsburg for 4 years, I would've been 2nd out of 160.

I was on the Dean's List for all 4 semesters at Northeast Texas Community College and I graduated cum laude with a 3.63 GPA from Regents College of the State University of New York.

I haven't taken an official IQ test in many years, but I'm anywhere from 145-160 on the unofficial ones on the Internet or book form you find in stores.

I was promoted to my current rank in the Air Force 4-5 years faster than normal because of my test scores.

The people who post on this website know I have a great memory and can remember lots of things. If you read my posts, you will see lots of analogies and references to landmarks, history, geography, politics, and pop culture. The topics I discuss and things I say are wide and varied.

I'm highly thought of on the board and the fact I just won 11 poster's choice awards attests to that fact. I like dragons08 a lot and always tease him. He says stuff about me, too. There is no malice in anything I say about him and it's all in fun. I'm sure he appreciates you taking up for him, but he can tell you I don't mean anything by it.

finally...

you don't know how long i've been waiting for Lonny's life story

I agree with Dragons08. Lonny is one of the smartest guys I know on this board and sure we both don't agree on certain things but I like this guy for his smarts and his straight forward explanations and info. I always have good conversations with him on the Basketball threads.
