In wake of the Seattle player we read about not too long ago, I wanted to post a link that Pied had sent to me in a PM in regards to Jessica Gage the daughter of former Lewisville football coach Ronnie Gage. She is battling a serious inoperable malignant brain tumor right now and I can only imagine how tough this is on the Gage family. The article discusses what what a special family they are and I know they would appreciate yalls prayers. Jessica is around 25-26 years old

I heard she was sick but did not know the extent. My prayers go out to this wonderful family. They have given a lot to this area and we need to support them with the strength of our prayers.

Thanks roughneck. The Gage family is very special and one that the Lewisville/Flower Mound community respect greatly. They are strong in their faith and closeness with one another. As the article said anybody who has ever come across Ronnie Gage is better for it.

Guys if you could please continue to keep the Gage family in your prayers. I was just informed by an old friend of mine who went to school with Jessica that she lost her battle and has gone to be with the Lord. This is indeed a sad day to see such a young and beautiful woman leave us.

I should have reprahsed my words. After going back to the freinds of jessica website, you can see how strong the Gage family is. As they said, Jessica has not lost her battle with the cancer but she has won and gained victory in Heaven. http://www.jessicagage.com/

I do not have kids and I am not married but I can only imagine how tough it is for a parent to lose a kid. I look back on how much I am loved by both my mom and my dad (who passed away in 97) as well as how much my friends who have kids love their kids and this has to be devistating.
I am sorry to hear about your mother and that loss, but you are right maybe it could go to help others.

Of all the losses we can endure the toughest by far is the loss of a child. I can't even imagine.

Like a punch to the gut. We were talking about it at church Monday night. I was told mom and dad had moved in with her for the last while. The service will be at Trietsch from what I understand.

Sad day and prayers to the family and friends.

It is like a punch in the gut, it is so sad to see somebody like Jessica go at such an early age. Her strength in the Lord though never seemed to have left her or her family and as we all grieve for her husband and the Gage family they remain strong in the words they shared with all of us on the jessicagage.com wesbite.
The viewing is being held af FBC Lewisville tommorow evening from 6:30-8:30 PM with the funeral to be held on Saturday June 6th at 10:30 AM at FBC Lewisville. I remember how families all across Lewisville/HV/FM came to the aide of my family during our loss years ago and I know that support is still strong in the community for the Gage family.
The family has asked instead of flowers for people to make donations to the LEF Scholarship fund throug the LISD. Details of that can be found at www.lisd.net

It's always hardest for us to see for we are still here on earth, but the ones that are gone to be with their heavenly Father are at ease with all and are having the time of their eternity not the time of their lives. In some ways I'm envious of those that have gone on to heaven. I, like the rest of you, will finish my time here on earth soon enough and when it's my time to go I know that My Lord Jesus Christ along with my Mother Jo Ann and the rest of my loved ones and friends will be waiting for me with opens arms. I know right now, this very day, that I do not fear death. I only want to avoid it or delay it until I see my children happy in all they do and grow to their full potential.

I ask you all, what else can a man ask for?

Nice words roughneck. Couldnt have said it any better.
The selfish desire of us humans just have a hard time to let go or see somebody go but we know ourselves that our time is coming eventually. This is especially hard here because Jessica never got the chance to enjoy being a parent and was a woman who had a young marriage. When its somebody around your own age reality becomes tough to deal with.
Your words are very encouraging and I thank you for that.:notworthy

it's all good, my brother, and I'll keep you in my prayers as well. I can tell that this situation weighs heavy on your heart. May our Lord lift and carry your burdens as well. At ease, FarmerFan, Jessica is with her Father now.

Thanks to FarmerFan and others for the news. I was reading the thread earlier today with tears running down my face. I am a Lewisville Fighting Farmer (class of 1978) so Coach Gage was after my time, but I knew what a great teacher and coach he was for LHS. So sad that his family has suffered this tragedy; bless them and the Lewisville community.
