hmm, i wasn't overly impressed, he was throwing screening passes 60 percent of the time. he has good mechanics though.
he's not any relation to the clausen bro's that played at tennessee is he?

Just to put the clip in perspective, it was a 1 game breakdown in which he only played 3 quarters. It was also a wide shot which made it difficult to see the details that would help better evaluate. Notice his quickness in his pass set, very impressive!

How do you guys think he compares to what looks like to be another highly rated quarterback from Texas High Ryan Mallett?

I am 99% positive that Jimmy is the brother of Ric & Casey. I seem to remember when they were doing a story about the Clausen brothers, they said the "little" brother would be the best of them all.

not likely...brother casey is steering him away from those hills...notre dame, s,carolina and usoutherncal, in that order, are his three finalist right now. prolly depends also on mustains decision in the next weeks!

As far as college choice is concerned, he could go anywhere in he wanted. He already has 46 schools that have offered him scholarships, and I read somewhere that as a sophmore a dozen or so big time colleges wrote his coach saying they were going to offer as soon as they could.
Sophmore Stats:
227-330, 68.8%
3,665 yards, 11.1 yards per attempt, 16.1 yards per completion
58 TDs, 6 INTS
This is without playing the second half is most of the games.
Junior Stats:
Not sure on completion percentage.
2,026 yards
27 TDs, 4 INTs
Numbers down because his team ran the ball more than last year, their running back, Marc Tyler, son of UCLA great Wendell Tyler, had 1,800 yds with 31 TDs.
His private school, Oaks Christian has less than 600 kids and the football team has 9 D-1 prospects including Clausen and Tyler.
In an interview with his father, he said that Jimmy's top choices are USC, Michigan, South Carolina, and Notre Dame and is looking at Michigan State, LSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma.

I think Jimmy is Notre Dame's to lose. He and his family love Weis and the system we have here. On the very first day of open recruiting, Weis was at his house at 8 AM in the morning.
He is coming on Junior Day with his two brothers and his father...they will all be grilling Charlie.

i think you're right...his father has asked him to wait until summer/early fall so he can take some more trips to see campuses again...father likes spurrier, but they are a catholic family and but sounds like he's a golden domer...to my dismay!
