I've been to the towns in bold.

I used to have a t-shirt that said, "I got laid in Chicken!":D

Cut-off is where Bobby Hebert is from.

Cold Foot, AK is the last place to buy gas before Deadhorse on the Alaska Pipeline road (Dalton Highway).

Smackover, AR is one of Redneckn's favorites.

Kill Devil Hills, NC is where the Wright Brothers flew.

I wish I had the Beavis and Butthead Travel Log that lists funny towns. You can get a lot more from that list!:D

Here are some from the book:

Tightwad, Missouri
Kaka, Arizona
Bad Axe, Michigan
Peck, Michigan
Needmore, Michigan

Well, it isn't the weirdest name, but Sachse, Texas(pronounced Sack'-see), may be the most mispronounced and misspelled name ever. It was named after a Prussian immigrant.

Most towns are names after people. Some towns are named after landmarks. Many small towns like to take Biblical names or the names of larger, more famous cities.

Rowden, TX was named for my great grandfather because they wanted to name a town and they drew the name out of the hat.

I guess it's fitting that it's 1 block way from Cherry St.!:p There is a takeoff of a Beavis and Butthead episode that's written all over this street name, but I'll be nice!:D I'll just say the Army episode reminded me of something to say.

Believe me. I thought about throwing Spring into the discussion, too.

I instantly thought of Butthead asking the Army recruiter if Fort Nuts was near Ft. Dix, but my joke was about HER!;)

Trivia time:

What was the name of Truth or Consequences before they changed the name of the town in honor of the TV show in the 1950's?

When I was a kid, Lajitas had 30 people, but the woman at the store across from the Tourist Bureau told me in June they have 12 now. The church already has services only twice a month. If things get much worse, I'm buying the town, running the Tourist Bureau and it's going to be...
