To open the season on Sept. 7, Trinity will have to play three games in 11 days and its first two within five days. Trinity plays Cedar Hill at Pennington Field on Sept. 12 and Allen at Pennington on Sept. 18.
Can Trinity recover from an 0-3 start and make the playoffs?
Only time will tell.

Was it the 2003 or 2004 season we had a bumpy start and finished in the quarterfinals?

Trinity will be fine. I think Trinity starts of 2-1. Home opener at Penington will be huge and while CH will come in looking to revenge last years beating I think Trinity will still be too much, despite the short turnaround. Allen will be a different story. They will be the experienced team this year and we will probably see a role reversal from a year ago. Trinity will be fine come playoff time.

Respectfully disagree, I think the Utah game is the most winnable of the 3. Cedar Hill and Allen are the top 2 teams coming back.

i like the first two games ill def be going to the trinity game and staying for the klein oak game but after that it falls off a little bit we have to play irving macarthur so i may stay and watch a little bit of there game but i dont really care about the mansfield game!!
This start will be tough for Trinity The game vs. Bingham they should win but then the CH and Allen matchups are toss-ups but they will still make the playoffs and go undefeated in district again!

I agree that the Utah game is the most winnable. I also realize that CH will be loaded coming back from a team that went 11-2 or 12-2 a year ago. CH did not have a strong passing game year ago and the Trinity D while graduating a lot still has some great players coming back and moving up and one that Ben Malena wont be able to overpower. With the game at Pennington despite being 5 days removed from their first one, I see Trinity once again pulling this one out. But CH could have improved greatly in their passing game from a year ago and if they have then that will be very very scary.

Yes.
You guys should know that better than anyone. I thought last year after only scoring about 20 points in the first 3 games and losing 2 it was over. But I was premature yet again.

1 - 2 is a definite possibility as is 0 - 3. But, teams better get their shots in early because I believe this team will be pretty good by the time playoffs roll around and those youngsters are battle tested.

Congrats to the Trojans and the Panthers for being part of this year's Herbie lineup. Euless will be the most represented community at the games. :D

D'Pants has got football smarts, and even though he is from the other side of the Cotton Belt (RR tracks for those that do not know the SLC demarcation line), you would want to hang with him at a game. Lots of good observation and insight. Why the hell else would I talk to him during the offseason;)

At those prices, at home watching the game on TV.
Actually, our little group of fans usually arrives when the gates open and grabs great seats. Come on over and join us. Tickets will be $15.

We have changed the name of the line of demarcation to the Cheese Belt, ok probably time to let that one go but still funny. Thanks for the compliment, yeah depending on parking prices we may need to car pool. I will bring the Stoli's again. My rifle still works. :D

Was thinking about attending the ET game just to see the new stadium as never could go there during the Pro season, not at those prices. So the games on ESPN, think I'll just stay home and watch it in the pool.:D

ic, so football is not in the stars in Plano this year or maybe its out of this world?:p

Well considering a couple things here. First, they would actually have to lose those games. And as much as I like to poke fun at Maroondog (and I do), I do agree with his point. Believe it when I see it. Second, last I checked non-district games have nothing to do with who makes the playoffs? So, the answer is "Yes" they just have to be one of the top 4 teams in their district to make the playoffs. BTW, last I checked they had one of the easiest districts in the state.

I would like to think we can make the top four in the district, but you never know. Right now I'd put Keller at the top and then Bell, Colleyville and Trinity in a group behind them.

Then can you tell me which it is? Trinity has fallen off that much, the other teams in the district improved or combination there of? ;)

Trinity has really fallen off that much. Allen could probably bring their JV team and give them a competitive game, don't you think Trojanbacker?

Well, I'm no coach nor do I play one on TV, but Keller was a pretty good, young team last year and they bring a lot of kids back this season. Excellent quarterback. Trinity lost 17 starters and will be using a lot of young kids and I'm sure it will take time for them to figure things out. Colleyville lost some really good skill position players. Bell....well, they lost a good quarterback and some other key players but return an excellent running back, plus I think their program is on the way up under the current coaching staff there.
Again, just a casual fan's opinion.
And, yes, I agree with Mr. Pants. The Allen starters will be back on the bus by half-time.

These teams and Trinity or any other team changes personnel on a consistant basis..........only four years in HS....(for most that is) none of these guys ever beat Trinity still.

I'm still sticking by my prediction! If our O line gels we have some horses in the backfield. That's a big "IF". The ball busting non-district schedule will get us ready and that's the reason Line's plays a tough non district.
1 and 2, 2 and 1, 0 and 3 the non district will have us ready for district.
We have 2 of the non districts at home and unless I am terribly wrong we don't or haven't lost at home but once (SGP 05) IN A LONG LONG TIME.
We'll see in less than a hundred days. That's why we play the games .

I think one thing that can't be forgotten, is that when Trinity fans consider next year's season, we're not just taking into account Trinity's lack of experience next season but also the part of the equation others are reluctant to fess up to and that is how good, talented, recently successful, and fearless teams like Allen, Cedar Hill , and the competition in the Region 1 playoffs are.
If there was some doubt about it not being only about what Trinity has done in the past , that day against Allen last December should of dispelled that.

I think Bell is going to be suprisingly good from what I've heard about their spring game. Could see them finishing 1st in district if Trinity slumps this year.

Not so fast, T-Back.
After watching all spring, we are going to need a lot of summertime development to be in the top 4. Obviously, all fans want to be optimistic about their team's chances. But as of this moment, we shouldn't be one of the favorites. Unless I just saw it all wrong this spring, or our defense is otherworldly, we have a long way to go on the O side of the ball.
The Labor Day game will be our second game and maybe we will have developed an indentity by then. With 7on7 and summer workouts, maybe just maybe, we can give a good showing.
How did #19 do this spring, or are ya'll still on "disclosure restriction" from Coach Lineweaver?:D

Trinity fans are in a self "disclosure restriction" mode 24/7. It's a requirement before you're allowed to call yourself a Trojan fan. It's also a requirement that if a poster reveals too much info, they're way-laid at the first opportunity by any Trojan fan.
