Food: BBQ. Will figure food out at later time, once we know who all is going. Best bet would be to have one person buy everything and have everyone pay them back, that way you can have a set cost for everyone, and don't have to worry about someone not bringing something.

Copperas Cove is Central to almost everything. San Angelo would also be a "central" choice.


We have a large city park we can hold the cooking/etc., in and those who cannot affort lodgings can park their tents at my house, maybe.....or mad_fan's friend at the San Angelo PD will put them up for the night.


Waco would also serve the Central to Everything Purpose, but the water in Cove tastes better.

You guys plan and I'll make phone calls. PM me if Cove is a possibility and I will begin to make inquiries as to cost for public use of facilities, etc. Don't lets forget Stillhouse and Belton Lakes for possibilities also. Plenty of motel space in Killeen/Belton.

Sure is. The hangovers are just so much worse. The next day is just useless, which is fine as long as the other inhabitants in the home understand and abide by the rule that it is my couch, I am not leaving it and if I fall asleep you cannot change what I am watching/sleeping through on TV. For an added bonus if they will bring me food from time to time, then I can get through it.
I have only found one person ever that was willing to do all of that and I am going to marry her, hopefully it will not change afterward :D

You and most would be surprised to learn its been a while since I have drank. Probably 3 weeks now. I even went to bar this past weekend and didnt touch a alcoholic drink. Same last night. Met a friend at The Pig in Lewisville and watched him get drunk while I sipped on Water. I am making a concious effort to stop with the heavy drinking and until I know I can control it I just assume not drink period.

Good for you, when I was younger I had to do the same thing. If I was going to have a drink I was going to get drunk, so I just stopped for awhile and learned to have a few and go home. Occasionally I will still over indulge.

I don't care about people drinking but Austin cops are major dicks about ID checking. I was walking to big bite on West Campus last Friday and one of my friends had a case of dos and a cop came and carded everyone that was walking with him. It is ridiculous.

12 people=32 bucks per person, for 2 nights. Now if we go over 12 people, do we have to get another lakehouse, or can more than 12 people stay there? With like sleeping bags and stuff...or do they limit you to 12 people no matter what?


Just to point out that if you go for that weekend, July 10-12th, you will be up against the State 7 on 7 Tournament in College Station:


Division I (4A-5A) 7 on 7 State Tournament -- Friday, July 10th & Saturday, July 11th
Division II (1A-3A) 7 on 7 State Tournament -- Thursday, July 9th & Friday, July 10th.

Not necessarily an issue, but one fans on the Board should be aware of. Might even consider doing this in conjunction with the tournament.

This. I find the idea a getting together this way much more appealing at this time in my life.


We could go to a Waco Lions or better yet...University Trojans game in Waco. Heck, if we go to a Trojans game, we can help fill the Home side!

Do either of these teams play on Saturday? It's not in my personal constitution to bypass a Trinity game to attend another football game.

Why do you want to go watch people make member videos...those are funny on the interwebs, would be weird to watch in real life.

I think a far better idea would be to wait until fall and try to pick out a random HS ball game to all attend. I could get up for something like that. Sit as a block in the visitor section or something.
I like the summer because I have my own game agenda come fall.

Start your planning over and think like your parents would if THEY were planning the event.


Plan a location.

Pick date and hours of event.

Plan for food/costs.

Scout lodgings for folks who have to drive a ways.

Plan a few organized events throughout the day (flag football, volleyball, badminton, sack races, three-legged races, etc.)

Plan for and obtain "door" prizes.

Publicize the event after plans are made.

Ask for RSVP's, record them.

Enjoy the day, but plan on working hard, YOU are the host/hostess.

1. Friday's are tough for most people and we have games that night.
2. Saturday's have their own agenda during the season and some people have games.
3. Participation will be down and you can pretty well count on me not being there if you do it during the year. I'm on the road for Tech games almost every week and the weeks I don't go to Tech games, I visit relatives.

Not to be a JERK, but people have tried to have mass meets at games before. And have failed utterly.

D08 and I will plan it out but I didn't want to just randomly pick a weekend and say be there! because that won't give me the maximum amount of people.

This isn't my first rodeo people! I've planned stuff before.


And Yes, I'm 20. I'm not going to have an "agenda"

we will be at a lake...eat breakfast, swim, talk, play poker, play football, eat lunch, do more of the first listed stuff, dinner, etc.


Don't worry, if you don't want to go, don't go! I'm pretty sure these plans for the summer will not rule out having a friday night meet during the season :D
